Not excelled so far but we have to hope that he will come good for us. He plays much better for Scotland in international football so I maybe in the minority but will try to keep the faith. It seems even his cheerleader has finally given up, so there is a free spot for you 73

I thought he was ok today. Not a threat in the box but put himself about
He’s played worse for us

Donkey makes the postman look like eusebio. a ratio of 1 goal in 29 games. fingers crossed that ratio turns into 1/15 tonight.

Do you think he’d still be in the team if we were playing with crowds?

Do you think he’d still be in the team if we were playing with crowds? He is in the team because his manager is picking him. Looks totally shot and I have to admit I do not carry much hope for him turning it around.

All the anger should be directed at the man who picks the team.
Inexplicable and damaging decision making for the side and especially for the lad himself.

For no other reason it's actually cruel on the lad to keep picking him.

The guy simply doesn't have a striker's instinct. His early chance where he was put off by the keeper would usually be either a goal or the trainers on attending the wounded. I've watched every game he's played and I can't remember saying to myself that 'Dykes was unlucky there'.

I've watched every game he's played and I can't remember saying to myself that 'Dykes was unlucky there'. once or twice is unlucky but to miss as many chances as he has is unacceptable. there's been at least 5-6 chances where he should have put them away but he'd either hashed it wide or hit it right at the keeper. its not even that either though, modern strikers don't have to be out and out goalscorers, firmino is a prime example of that, but dykes isn't even contributing to buildup play or creating chances. one assist in 30 games is horrendous imo. he has the first touch of a scooberdiver. how many times in a game do we see him lose the ball outside the box or knock it straight to a defender? countless imo, even his knockdowns are the same. even defending set pieces he's largely done nothing. his best quality is an awesome long throw but we didn't pay 2m for a long throw. will he come good? i don't know, i hope so as hes a likeable guy but right now his confidence is completely shattered. you can see it in his posture everytime he misses a shot or fucks up. what he needs is to be dropped entirely from the first team and to play a few games for the U23's, he needs to score some goals and find some self belief and he's not gunna do that playing in the 1st team.

Was thinking there has now been so many chances. Last night, the two at Preston, the one on one at Watford, the one on one that he put over the loft, the one he punched into the loft. It’s totally unacceptable and he needs pulling on it. I don’t buy this feeling sorry for him. He’s a big boy earning money to not do his job. The fact that Chaz has matched him on goals in a few weeks should speak volumes. He’s got no positional sense, no strikers instinct and he’s always a yard or so behind where he needs to be. Running around making half arsed attempts to win the ball won’t cut it at this level. All I will say is that Steve Clark and those in the press must see something because he came with rave reviews. At some point we’ve got to be able to point the finger and say “ this is on you now”. He’s been cut an awful lot of slack and he needs to pull his socks up if he wants a career at this level.

Charlie would have scored that one last night without question. It is a strikers instinct to get yourself a half a yard there.

How do you know he was ever any good in the first place? He's a converted CB ffs who we in our wisdom decided to purchase. And then go on picking despite the evidence to the contrary. Manager and those responsible for the acquisition are totally to blame for the shambles, ie the usual suspects. It's like C.Washington all over again, but worse. If we want to get anything out of him, we have to take him out of the front line because he's shot away, same thing happened to Lumley (who does have the makings of a decent GK). Take a bow Warburton, nice work.

I'm not going to destroy the chap as he getting paid for doing a job in no where ever near good enough to do. Clearly it may be a level too high for him and we dropped another striker bomb. With money spent on him and eventually to replace him we could of kept one of hugil or wells and then added Chaz. Be potent.

According to Marbs, apparently its social media's fault that Donkey is shite.
Nothing to do with the fact that Marbs keeps flogging the rugby player week in, week out, into the starting lineup.
At what point does Crusts say to himself, this is not working.
Who at the club spunked 2mil on a gum chewing, scarecrow standing, dog and duck level rugby player?

I was a fan when we signed him and backed him to come good which unfortunately does not look likely to happen anytime soon. our other issue is Bonne is equally clueless which means Dykes has been picked almost by default.
