It was actually 2 years ago Niko was extended. He's got 2 seasons left. Terrible isn't it. We extend someone who was in the team at the time, and was playing at the time so that we don't lose him for nothing at a time when it looked like he might kick on. Now we have a player on low wages that we can sell for a few quid. Horrible management.

According to twitter Nico is returning from playing just 17mins for Botofogo at the request of QPR. Hooked off before half time! No subbed on at 73

Wrong to say a.) he was a first team regular at the time he was extended, and b.) he's on low wages though. I don't believe either are true. Niko was given a generous contract off the back of a decent loan spell in Scotland. I was behind it at the time as it goes. I'd seen him play in the SPL and had been impressed.

He was playing in rotation with Wallace at the time. Certainly looked like he might be the no1 LB at one stage. Wages, must be on less than £4k a week. In football terms, that's the square root of fuck all. I'd imagine we would still get £100k for him.

I'd take that for a week's training 🤣

How do some people continue to rob a living, despite failing everywhere they play? Thought we had off-loaded the numpty but clearly not.

Pretty sure he's on a good bit more than 2 and a half bags a week. I mean what young Championship level player is gonna agree to 4 years on that?
I'd heard he was given a proper 1st team contract - which would be likely in excess of 6k p/w.
Not a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, but it would explain why we are only getting him out on loan. He'll want every penny of that contract cos I doubt he'll earn that much again at any point in his football career.

So that sounds right for a backup player. He isn't someone to build a team around but would be okay for the odd game. Doubt we could find someone cheaper that is massively better.

This one claims he's on nearly 9 grand mate. www.capology.com/club/qpr/salaries/Now that number seems ridiculous, but the disparity just goes to show that nobody really knows other than the club or the player. What I'd heard was he was rated by a few at the club after a promising loan spell in Scotland, and was tied down with a long contract on proper first team money. Now if you are reading into that he's on a par with the likes of Dom Ball etc. it's gonna be more than 2 or 3 grand.

Let's put it like this; if you are right, then the club have had a nightmare, I agree with you. If I am right, then the club haven't done anything wrong.

Presumably we had to pay him off? He won't have just walked away from a year on the biggest money he'll ever earn in his life. Hate to think what that 4 year deal cost us in total.

Coincidence that now Les has gone, Hammy the Hamster has gone too? I mean how on earth did he get that new 4 year contract? Something well off there...

Coincidence that now Les has gone, Hammy the Hamster has gone too? I mean how on earth did he get that new 4 year contract? Something well off there... it was because BOS and manning both had left on tiny fees due to their contracts being up. les panicked and tied down ozzy and niko to long term contracts due to supposed interest from other championship clubs.
