it was because BOS and manning both had left on tiny fees due to their contracts being up. les panicked and tied down ozzy and niko to long term contracts due to supposed interest from other championship clubs.
They gave out a few 4 year contracts, if memory serves me right Chair, Willock and Dieng all got tied down at the same time.... win some, lose some... suspect this is the reasoning for 1 year contracts on the clubs prospects...
Regarding BOS, those cheeky bar stewards at Fenebache tried to loan BOS out in the January window on the condition that the club involved bought him for £12M at the end of the season.... they apparently declined
