Still some chumps on a certain site saying Ollie should be back to replace Warbs... he has a 100% win record and has kept half the amount of cleansheets that warburton has in a fraction of the time.

He just tweeted good luck to Barton but the responses from Grimsby fans left he in stitches. They like a few of us are not fans

Genuinely a good bloke who simply loves his football.

Ollie isnt anywhere near an all time favourite player for me , but he never let us down .., managers ....,that we love Terry Venables ,Jim Smith , Neil Warnock ......... thinking about it including the Gerry Francis times, no one else comes close ...... there hasnt been another manager who has connected with us as fans like Ollie did in the promotion season in 04 ! Hopefully Warburton will build on the amazing work he has done !

At the time I associated Holloway's appointment - and Ollyisms - with the decline of the club especially when you considered that he hadn't been a huge success anywhere else so its an era that I don't look back to fondly because I don't feel part of it. It was also around the time that the need to attend as many matches as possible disappeared for me. In hindsight, however, he hadn't been a huge success at Bristol Rovers because of their board's mismanagement of the club, he was the galvanising force we needed at QPR and the importance of going to almost every one of our matches was always going to disappear during that period of my life as I hit an age where I developed other interests and a more meaningful relationship with my then girlfriend.

Think Olly is a decent man but he does talk some rubbish , don't quite know how he gets TV work .

I admired the bloke as a player driving himself week in, week out to perform above his pay grade but I haven’t forgotten how he nearly blew that promotion with his tinkering and tactics. All came down to a nail biter at Wednesday when we should have had our feet up.

All came down to a nail biter at Wednesday when we should have had our feet up. That season 03/04 ,in the third tier , is one of my favourite years following Rangers . No massive stars or big name players ,just a team who wanted to play for the R`s , felt like we were all on board as a club together then ,including the fans . Something we lost soon after but hopefully are putting right now .

I get what you`re saying OldR ,about the his second coming , that really didn`t work ,like revisiting an old girlfriend , but i thought the first time with Olly as manager was special , though the football was limited ,it was what we needed to get out of division 2 ( or whatever the old third division was called then ! )

He seemed to be a very different person and his rant about fans leaving early after the 2-2 against Brentford when we were 2-0 down with 92 minutes played still doesn't sit well with me. I think one thing to remember is that we had a whole generation of fans who had experienced only top flight football played with a certain style and a club who carried themselves with a sense of class and style. Speaking to friends about that 1st Holloway era it seems that many of us had a huge shock to the system that maybe older fans - who had seen it all before - and younger kids at the time who had no similar reference points didn't suffer to the same degrees.

I was never a huge fan 2nd time around but have to say the bloke seems to care massively about our club. Heard him on a podcast during the week and it sounded like he was shafted by Fernandes. The same bloke who took him back was the bloke who met with Mclaren long before he was let go of. Has this group of owners got any decision right in the past 12 years?
