Said it on another thread Westy. When we see the finances of all the clubs in the division, people will see that our losses this year are a drop in the ocean compared to many in other clubs.

Starting to look like we are in a stronger position than most. That 40m fine was a godsend.

Not hugely surprised Westy. Lots of clubs were living hand to mouth before Covid. Can't take fans out the game for over a season and expect the money to keep flowing.

My Wednesday pal says they are trying to force Chansiri out - I’d have thought that needed a buyer....

While Derby, on the other hand, seem to have avoided points being deducted at all. Strange!

Remember when Derby fans went on and on and on about us breaking rules now they are found guilty of ‘Deliberately’ breaching rules
Go Wycombe hope you get a result. No excuse for EFL not to resolve before season starts

How can the EFL not punish Derby? Oh. I know. They're useless, spineless cowards.

How can the EFL not punish Derby? Oh. I know. They're useless, spineless cowards. They will be punished mate. From what I've heard they've been doing some very creative accounting which will a.) land them a sizeable fine, and b.) put them in breach of FFP once resolved. My money would be on them starting next season with a 12 point deduction. Wycombe want retrospective punishment, and I understand why. But there is no precedent for that. In the past these matters have always been handled by points deductions the following season.

Totally feel for them mate. But retrospective points deductions a month after the the end of the season is a can of worms that I don't see the Football League opening. Once they've set that kind of precedent we'll have asterisks everywhere at the end of every season.

Disgusting really. He's the one in breach if anyone. Have to say, I disagree. They were all out on a club-organised 'team-bonding' night (ie, massive piss-up). While it could possibly be argued that Keogh might have been 'irresponsible' as captain to let the players get as drunk as they apparently did, they are all adults. But the driver of the car was 100% guilty for taking the decision to drive his car while over the limit and endanger lives in the way that he did. And for him, and the other player in the car, to run off and leave Keogh injured inside the car just cowardly and utterly despicable. There may be a case for Keogh to have lost the captaincy and perhaps be fined by the club. But to sack him was just so wrong on so many levels - I wondered if the owners were getting advice from that orange sh*t Briatore... Especially as all the others kept their jobs.

Nick De Marco reaction on twitter:Delighted for Derby County. The idea of any points deduction, let alone a retrospective one, was a nonsense in the circumstances. The full written reasons of the DC make clear why any points deduction would be wholly disproportionate and I urge anyone interested to read them. Me: Arghhh...they got away with it.

Disgusting if true and we should ask for our punishment to be reduced out of principle or we sue the league

This is some fall from grace. Another club who people pointed to their owner as example of best practice in the past
Give me our lot every day of the week

Happy to admit I was never fully signed up to Warburton but I’ve posted many times ‘careful what you wish for’. I can’t believe our lot are still here and thank fuck they are. That said, I think they put us in promiseland about a new stadium.

Could possibly have had new ground already, if Tony had been more humble instead of playing Billy big bollox re. Cargiant. Phil Beard didn't help either

Winding up order issued to Derby (though as the Tweet says, easily averted).
But definitely a sign of the kind of shit they're in financially...

Not even fined I guess..irc Yes, given extra time by the EFL, but the winding up order is from Companies House. But I'm sure you're right Shania, Derby will be scrape under the wire and be absolutely fine in that respect. But I'm still hoping they'll cop a points deduction, and perhaps a fine and continued transfer embargo. They absolutely deserve it.

Year after year, season after season, derby flout the rules with no penalty. Other teams get fines, get relegated, points deductions, derby.............. nothing.
