I was quite vocal early on in the tournament about how I expected England to underachieve and that Southgate was a poor Manager.
I'm quite happy to eat my words and say how impressed I've been with the way Southgate and the squad have conducted themselves throughout the tournament.
Whilst today isn't as important to me as most others on here, I'm really hoping England win tonight and I wish you all the best of luck.

A little bit concerned by 3-4-3 for this one.
Thats 5 ball lost which means the Italian MF could get control.
Also, this line up has less pace than the the 3-4-3 vs Germany which seems to defy logic. Fingers crossed.

Mistake to let such young players take the pens. Too much pressure for those young shoulders. Should have left it to the more experienced players. What an opportunity lost. Great experience for the younger players which will stand them in good stead. Roll on the next World Cup. But Jordan Pickford, what can you say?! What a hero.

Fair play to the young kids like sako and sancho. Even though they missed, they showed courage.

Easy to be critical after the event but I think Southgate could and should have done more to try and win it in the 120 mins. I never fancied us at pens against the Italians.
Mancini made much better use of his bench. For me Southgate wasn't bold enough with his subs and the last 15 mins it looked like they were holding out for pens rather than going for it which IMO wasn't the right approach against this side. GS needs to learn from this if he's going to stay in the job. Albeit he's done brilliantly to get us to a final.

He stood there and watched while a 19 year old kid took the ball and marched up to the penalty spot.
