Because we need the bulk of the money now to invest in the squad. If they are paying 3 mil per year over 5 years, we will only get half of that to spend each season. We need a minimum of 4 players in this window alone. i get the point your making but its swings and round abouts as whoever we end up signing will have payments spread out over years too. I think the lad has handled it well and whoever he goes to will be getting a good player with the right attitude. BOS could learn a thing or two from Eze.

If we are getting 16 mill and 3.5 mill on add ons plus a sell on fee then the club have done really well.
Worth noting West London reporter at the end of their breaking news of the story that we are keen to tie up the rob dickie deal.
If we sign him that will be a top top signing and would show we still and always hold sway over Brentford as Dickie is a level above Goode!!

Just seen Dave Mac post something on Twitter about Palace and Eze. Apparently they've been watching him for 2 years and it's always been Eze's preferred option. Not saying Dave Mac knows everything, but he rarely sticks his neck out like that unless he's pretty sure of something.
He's also said the final stumbling block appears to be a sell on clause.
If Dave is on the money I'm guessing this will all be tied up in the next day or 2, barring any disasters or surprise bids from larger clubs.
