I would try and hold him until the summer if were in contact with top six

I would get him on a 5 year contract at the highest possible wages we can afford and a buyout clause of £15m minimum. Next year we will be under no real pressure to keep things tighter than a drum skin due to the £21m falling off the rolling total permitted under FFP. That way we will be in a position whereby we can keep him, and Chair and hopefully purchase Wells too. As things stand there is every chance that in the next season or two we will be ready for a properly structured tip at the EPL and that will only happen with players like Eze etc. still with us. If he is to go, then it should be for big, big money.

With regards to Eze, I'm over the moon with his improvement this season. As Westy alluded to above, he's transformed himself from something of a luxury player to a proper midfielder. He's tracking back and doing the ugly stuff, whilst also looking devastating with the ball at his feet. I'd be amazed if we are able to hang onto the lad beyond this season if he keeps developing at this rate! |

I'd be amazed if we are able to hang onto the lad beyond this season if he keeps developing at this rate! this. he's been sensational so far this season and has been in better form than any of our players over the past few seasons imo. he's really come into his own and its hard to pick out any negatives in his playstyle, he even executed a sliding tackle yesterday! of all our players i never feel anxious when he has the ball coz you just know he's gunna do something with it or play it out of danger like he did many times yesterday. i can't see him leaving in january but at the end of the season i reckon its gunna be very hard to keep ahold of him. given our recent profitable sales which (should) easily set us on course to passing FFP theres absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be demanding big money for him. even if he does go we will still make do imo and chair could easily fill his void as our number 10 |
