Like I said, and I can say it one more time, it was something I said in the heat of the moment. It's easily done when we're getting battered st home. It happens. No need to be sorry.

Warburton insists Eze will only be allowed to leave 'on QPR's terms'PUBLISHED: 15:02 08 December 2019 | Dan Bennett Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Warburton discusses the future of Ebere Eze. Mark Warburton insists that Ebere Eze will only be allowed to leave QPR in January on terms which are right for the club. The 21-year-old scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season against Preston in a 2-0 win on Saturday and he has recently been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur. But although Warburton accepts that he has a price, the QPR boss believes any decision taken will be for the good of the club: "Every player in the world has got a price. January will be interesting. If we try and buy a player for £1 million they will want £2 million. Likewise if we sell one of our own players it will be on QPR's terms.
Les, Lee and the board will do whataver they think is best and I guarantee it will be for the good of QPR. He's a very talanted boy. He's working and learning every single day and long may that continue."www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/queens-park-rangers/qpr-boss-mark-warburton-insists-ebere-eze-only-allowed-leave-qpr-terms-1-6414731

It's an interesting statement because it basically means everything is for sale.
Although you could say that's the same everywhere, in reality I doubt whether Leeds (say) or WBA are going to be shifting their top talent come January.
With the way media rights are going, there's a strong argument that a more expansive fiscal policy is the way to go. It doesn't mean going nuts.
Everybody flags up Sotton as a model club, but there's only so far you'll go these days if you keep selling: downwards. Times have changed since we did our supermarket dash and then went on a reactively driven 180.
Financially, I'd say we did everything at the wrong time, that's Uncle legacy for you.
As far as Eze is concerned, he's nowhere near top money yet. Inconsistent, still tends to go missing. He's a good kid, but I think the reason we rate him so highly is a reflection of the desperate lack of takent we've seen in recent times.

When he goes, I know I will feel like I felt when Allen and Goddard were sold. I don`t look forward to that day at all. A cliche i know, but he is a wizard with the ball at his feet.

I would be surprised if he left in Jan but surprised if he didn't in the Summer.

Agree won’t go anywhere in jan in my opinion i hope you are both right as I still believe we have an outside chance of the play-offs... i dont think we have any chance SWL for me the points on the board do not reflect how fragile we are at the back. I’m just enjoying the journey but hand on heart don’t expect it to end in playoffs but love to be proven wrong

It is amazing what a couple of good performances can do with potentially tricky fixtures. I still look back at Fulham away and think how we bossed them for an hour but ended up losing it. So annoying that we didn't take some of those chances. They are third!

The above wouldn't surprise me at all Westy. I personally think we'll really struggle to hold onto Eze this window. If we can get a decent fee and a couple of talented Spurs youngster thrown in that would soften the blow. Eze will be badly missed if it happens though. He's been the heart and soul of the team this season!

If spurs do sign him this January then I hope they outline the plans for him for the remainder of the season. It's unlikely he'd go there and see much action in the short-term so the smart thing would be to leave him here where he's guaranteed to be the main man.
Didn't they do similar with a Leeds player back in the summer?

They will be doing all they can to cash him in this window. I don't think he's actually featured at all under Mourinho. Eze would be a great understudy and 2nd half sub for Dele Alli.

I reckon it depends on how highly they rate Chair. Noticeable that they've stopped playing them together.... viewed as 'similar'?

Money talks mate. If anything close to 20m quid comes in he'll be on his way. To be fair, Eze will want the move too if a side like Spurs are in for him. His salary will probably go up tenfold. He's only had 1 contract renewal since he stepped up from the development squad. He won't be on much money with us as things stand.

Best player in the Championship this season, both in terms of stats and also common opinion amongst the media/experts. Also an England U21 international who's been praised every time he's played for them. And all that being said, he's still not the finished article. Loads of room for him to improve. Worse players than him are fetching bigger fees in the current market. Man Utd paid 50 odd million for Fred FFS. I know what I'd rather have out of Fred at 50m or Eze and 30m left in the coffers. I just hope our board have got the stones to negotiate this one properly when he eventually goes. Eze is not one we should let go on the cheap.

Saying 15 plus add ons Plus Amos perm Plus Jack Clark They paid 10m for Clarke didn't they? Might get him on a loan but I doubt they'd chuck him in as a make weight on a permanent deal. Still though, you might be about right. 15m plus Amos is probably the right kind of ballpark. Even better if we can get a sell on too.

Yeah, that an 15m quid would probably do it. As much as I don't want to see Eze go, I'm glad it's a big side like Spurs that are (allegedly) having a look at him. We stand a better chance of actually getting a fair price than if it was a club like Sheff Utd, Watford, Palace etc.
