Interesting comments from Marti which says a lot: As R’s boss Marti Cifuentes looks to build on a season that saw them largely fighting relegation, FLW's QPR fan pundit Louis Moir believes the Spaniard won’t be too sad to see the Irishman depart, although it could be a case of what could have been. "It’s a shame because obviously we should be seeing a lot more from him now, and it’s not really happened," Louis told Football League World. “He’s only got the year extension, so he’s another one like [Chris] Willock, who doesn’t seem to want to hang around or stay long term, which I’m surprised about, especially with Armstrong. “To go to Bristol City, to be honest I think any club Armstrong goes to there’s a risk of us selling him and he does amazing, and we’re all thinking that’s the talent that we wanted to see for QPR, but it hasn’t materialised. footballleagueworld.co.uk/bristol-city-warned-as-qpr-transfer-agreement-close-sinclair-armstrong/It's not Marti, but some bloke called Louis. Oh yea so it is ffs, sorry, me being a moron lol

One Twitter outlet reporting the deal is done, and it's £2.5m PLUS £1m in add ons.
How the fuck have we managed that?? 🤣
Either it's bullshit or our new CEO is a fucking genius. If it's that much, let's see how much else we can pull Bristol City's pants down for 🤣

Sounds like done deal. £2.5m + £1m add ons. £600k going to Shamrock, and we have 20% sell on clause with Bristol City.
For once I think we have done a bloody good bit of business here, well done Rangers.

The message that the Armstrong deal sends is a complete turn around and had to be done. With no squad depth, we previously let these contracts run down. Allowing players to run down their contracts for big signing on fees is not sustainable for clubs in the Championship (and below). Clubs increasingly will take the last year option but then sell for the last chance at value. We have demonstrated that Willock was not allowed to walk last Summer, and his dad made sure that no offers were acceptable. The last year has been a complete waste for Willock. Serves him right, he is another year older now, with the bright prospect of Cardiff ahead of him. Armstrong not signing, then we will sell you. And hopefully buy better. It makes the situation with Dunne and Paal all the more interesting. The communication around Dunne staying was less than clear. It was not said that we were just exercising an option, and Dunne stated that he was pleased to have his future resolved. We are not allowed to know when his current contract expires. Transfermarket report that his contract expires next Summer and has a value of £2.5m But Paal ran his contract down last time and we took advantage with a free transfer, All the signs are that he wants to do that again as he is on his last year. So surely, if they can, QPR will sell Paal this window, Transfermarket value is £2.8m. However, Transfermarket think Clarke-Salter is only worth £1.2m - it is amazing though that journos use these valuations when reporting, especially clickbait.

If a shit striker is going for that price it kind of explains why we have struggled to get one in as what’s price of one who knows where back of the net is who is not a risk. Over the moon if this comes off.

wow, just wow if that fee is correct. however you look at it it's a good deal. even if he goes on to score 20+ next season i'd still be fairly happy, heck, hopefully he does so we can get more in a future sell on fee.

Great deal but also let’s remember our CEO words: “ Most importantly, we need individuals who are as convinced and excited about the project that the club is now building as we are, whilst respecting budgetary constraints.”
If he left for £1 it would be worth it.

Obviously have been a little wary of our new CEO since his arrival, given the shit show of CEOs and DoFs that preceded him. I don't think I'm alone in that either. But if these early signs are anything to go by, I think we may have just struck gold with him.

Personal view thank god he’s gone useless forward. If we had to keep one out of him and dykes (scrapping the barrel) I would have kept Dykes.
No loss at all imo let’s hope we spend money wisely.

Bristol websites saying £1.5m with add-ons to a maximum of £2.5m. Think the 20% sell on is capped by the £1m. So only £1.2m for us and £300k to Shamrock. Still a lot more than I was expecting...and of course we are not to know until the accounts eventually come out. What harm is there in communicating the correct value of the deal?

Armstrong's agent has been doing a great job of getting the papers to big him up since the minute he signed for us. If the papers say he's being scouted by Man City etc. then the fans who don't watch him week in week out will obviously reckon they've nicked some kind of uncut gem.
