All keeping the ball deep in your own half does is let the oppo get into their shape . unfortunately our team is very ordinary without willock and all 3 strikers fall seriously short of being prolific.dykes has the touch of an elephant , Charlie is unfit , angry and drops to deep inveribly losing the ball and gray just doesn't seem up to it , disappointing after good strikes at wba , derby and cov

One thing's for sure - with or without Willock - that formation doesn't work with 2 strikers and a Field/Hendricks MF. Would also look at the Chair situation as he does not influence games like Willock does. Our strike force will be what costs us and why did we not try for that Josh Maja who went to Stoke I believe. I love Austin but he is so unfit now that you have to look at whether he is worth keeping next season or just cutting ties.

Good players go and get the ball and make things happen and get the game by the scruff of the neck show ponies don't.

Question to MW, Can you honestly say every player came off that pitch having given their all and more ? "It's fine margins, Bill. Fine margins." - Mark Warburton No we are playing the bottom side absoloute crap display

He had at least 10 chances to give an early cross but opted to take extra touches and lost possession, every time. Twice when he succeed to cross went to red player. His soft pass lead to their goal. Useless. Not for me the best of a bad bunch on the day

Maybe we should start Sanderson instead of Dickie. I think Sanderson can keep possession better. Dickie has gone downwards all the time.

Warbs is always good with the positivity when we are winning - be interesting if he does get tough with the team and tell them if they carry on playing like that we aren't going to make the play offs. He also needs to assess his tactics: against Boro and Barnsley (Barnsley FFS!) our midfield was over-run and created virtually nothing. We needed Amos in there, instead we had two forwards who were such spectators they might as well have sat in the stands. Why doesn’t he tell them to get the ball forward quicker when he’s watching a game like that? He’s obsessed with possession. Possession stat wins fuck all. Because he is to cautious and is reluctant to go for it even at the bottom club. Think his motivational skills are somewhat lacking but overall doing well

To be fair he has called the players out by questioning their desire and so he should. You need to match the effort of these teams and thenyour quality should take over.

Westy has a go at me because I’ve never been completely sold on MW as a manager - today was a perfect illustration. First half Barnsley looked exactly what they are, shit and doomed, yet we still treated them like we were playing Liverpool or someone keeping the ball away from them without ever threatening ourselves. All that does is let them build confidence and settle into their game. You can imagine their dressing room at half time ‘this lot are supposed to be shit hot but they’ve shown nothing’. I’m not saying he should change everything but fewer passes and move it quicker instead of pissing about until Albert gets a chest high wide ball might actually work. How you can stand there for 90 mins watching us fail time after time in a game is what makes me have doubts and yes, I get the budget and squad arguments.

Fuming about this result it’s not fucking acceptable
I would go mental if I was manager today
It’s like we don’t want to go up atm
We should have pissed this match
Players should walk home not be allowed on the bus

If he doesn’t do something Millwall will stuff us. They will be up for it, they know what a derby means and they don’t like us. They’ll be at it from kick off.

It’s a worry for me that not just today but recently we struggle to get the ball forwards without resorting to hitting long balls down the channels or launched up to Dykes to flick on to nobody in particular.
As Stainrod said nobody showed any bravery to take their man on and just picked the easy option of going backwards or sideways then for it to be launched.
Although Hendrick looks neat and tidy with his passing he doesn’t look like he’s capable of being the creative lynchpin that our midfield is crying out for with currently Johansen looking out of sorts.

Divides opinion does Moses. Think he's pretty useless myself. Was becoming a fan but on today’s display I’d have to agree, although to his credit he put in more effort than most and he didn’t hide when the chants went up for Albert. I’m not writing him off for being poor in that hopeless performance.

Must remember to record EFL on Quest to see how the ball went through the hole in Dykes’ head at the death.

Would start Amos in front of Chair to give us someone who can get about the pitch as that game could easily pass Chair by. They will be bang up for the game so we need to pick a team who will roll their sleeves up and match Millwallif not points will be dropped

knew we'd lose but still frustrating to lose to a team bottom of the table and without a win in 13.
made it far too easy for them imo. its not even that they robbed us as they deserved to win, we had a few half decent chances and didn't capitalise on it.
oh well, we have 3 very winnable games coming up so hopefully we rectify it.

he has called the players out by questioning their desire If that's true then he shares some of the responsibility, as manager, for not sufficiently motivating them.

I think we should have tried to pass the ball to Chair more often, especially in the first half. It actually begs the question why is he so unfit? 32 and his career as a footballer is only downhill from here. he's achieved everything he ever dreamed of, scored bags of goals, played at a high standard in the prem and was even called up for england once. promotion i'm sure would be a great feather for his cap but he's understandably not as motivated as he once was, plus his media career is looking promising for him. for sure he enjoys football still but everything that goes into football, ie, the training and dieting, probably isn't for him now. i watch ben foster's youtube channel quite a bit and he has some great insight to being a footballer. he said when he was younger he was so driven and strict about what he did in regards to training and dieting and a loss really pissed him off. now though he's a lot more relaxed, he's a naturally athletic guy who loves being in shape but he said he'll have a bottle of red on saturday evenings and a takeaway every now and again. a loss doesn't affect him mentally like it did before, he just puts it behind him and moves on pretty quickly.
