Despite the collapse this season I will always look back and see Warbs as one of the better managers we've had. Done very well on no budget. And you know what, I'm glad its been done this way rather than sacking him. Cheers Warbs, all the best 👍

This is first time I’ve seen fan base really split on decision like this. Each social network seems have it’s own take ie here has been pretty pro his exit for a while but on Twitter I’m amazed how pro Warburton it’s been
I would have retained him and will change my prediction on next season based on his exit but I can see why he’s gone given last two months of season
Best manager since Warnock. Think hes done more right then wrong for club so I say thank you Warburton
I just hope we’re not looking back at Christmas saying we made a mistake

I think the board are now up under massive pressure to get a good candidate otherwise they will be slaughtered
I sensed that with Les s interview that when warbs refused a striker there was tension between him and Mw

I just think back three years when he came and started playing out from the back. All fans shitting themselves saying what’s he doing etc but they cracked it and not very often now do we look rushed doing it. Defence far better too never used to keep clean sheets do it often now.
This season the frontline let us down I woukd argue they broke him (not intentionally)

The front line as you say are responsible for the departure of Mark Warbourton

The front line as you say are responsible for the departure of Mark Warbourton Again, why didn't he play his best striker (Gray) more often? Master of his own downfall so hard to have sympathy on that score. IMO. He may still be in a job otherwise.

I cried a river when Rodney got sold but Stan came in and he was an upgrade.
Life’s too short to worry about whether a decision is a mistake or not.

It’s a weird one this.
I have been very open to keeping him on for 1 more year to finish what he started and learn from his massive mistakes this year BUT what has swung it for me on top of all his obvious mistakes it’s his insistence on starting with Dykes. A fucking useless, lazy, shit striker. Why?!!
He’s let you down week on week and yet you stick by him. On top of that against Stoke last week we offered absolutely nothing in a must win game. For me that tipped the scales into the you’ve taken us as far as you can camp.
It’s time to go.
I will miss him. I think he’s an honest enough chap and has been a gentleman throughout. I just think the pressure got to him and he tinkered in all the wrong ways and couldn’t handle it.

Thanks very much for all your work Mark, an excellent manager for us who always carried himself well. I wish you all the very best.
A few thoughts:
1) Some fans think he has taken us as far as he can. Maybe so. But maybe, for now, this is our level. Charlton made the same complaint when they sacked Alan Curbishley. They were about 7th in the Prem at the time.
2) If they don't want Warburton as manager wouldn't he do a better job than Les as DoF, who other than looking quite cool doesn't seem to do a lot? His bungled interview basically announcing the sacking showed a complete lack of respect and was amateur hour
3) The fundamental problem at QPR is not that we missed out on the play offs (we wouldn't have gone up anyway). Its that both our U23 and U18s are bottom of their respective leagues. That's five years on from announcing youth was the future. Until we start developing more players we will never develop the funds to do a Brentford.

He was a great manager for a year. Shame it straddled 2 years. Yes, but don't forget if you took the second half of last season and the first half of this season, and we would have gone up automatically if combined into one season, but if you take the first half of last season and the second half of this season, we would have been adrift at the bottom, and going down.

I didn’t want him gone but truer words have never been spoken. Nobodies died, time to look forward and whatever happens with a new manager, what’s done is done.

Start of the season we were though, and actually getting good wins away from home.

Then injuries started to hit us.

Have been pondering this for months. He's obviously a really nice man, a decent fella, and for that reason you really want to keep him. But, boy, the football has been shit for three months now. And we weren't ever that great imho. He put his faith in players like Dykes who shouldn't even be in the bench. So him going is necessary. But have we any faith in a decent successor being appointed? Les is the constant in the various shit storms we've endured since 2015.......
We haven't had a manager poached from us since Gerry in 1994. That says so much.

If you are employed as a professional football manager, and your team gets only 12 points from 16 games in a row, ie. relegation form for more than a third of a season, you can't really complain about being sacked.

I see MW is being linked to Charlton now that Johnnie Jackson has been sacked.
It will be interesting if he does go there as their U23s finished 4th and their U18s finished top of their respected leagues.
