So glad Westwood isn’t ours as such.
Fills me with v little confidence I’ll be honest.

If we do sign a keeper next season I would be happy to see Marshall as deputy to Dieng or if he leaves as a number 1. Marshall makes more errors than Dieng. Wouldn't have him as a Number 1. His signing also coincided with our demise. Fine as backup though! Not really Stan. Didn’t he keep 3/4 clean sheets in a row in his first few games? Can’t ask for more than that! Our demise started when the bread man shit himself, tinkered, bringing in players he didn’t need and sacrificing the players that got us up the top and then being too stubborn to change it back. Can’t put any blame on Marshall in my book.

Ok, fair comments Jimmy, but definitely wouldn't have him as No 1 though. Yes you're right he started well, but some errors crept in after that. Errors I'd never see Dieng making.

Would like us to extend Marshall’s contract in the summer, get rid of archer, dillan and waywood. Seny , Marshall and Mahoney will be enough for next season.
On a side note, had a quick chat with seny today outside the kids zone on South Africa road. A real pleasant fella who happily stood for a photo with my boy. He says he wants to stay next season but I guess they all say that when you ask them.

His signing also coincided with our demise. Fine as backup though! Every Scottish keeper I can remember makes plenty of howlers but seriously Marshall has got to be up there as one of their best ever stoppers ?Hes been impressive overall for me. Im saying Marshall as transfer money will probably be tight next season and he will surely be highly focused on continuing his international career especially if Scotland qualify for the World Cup. The other thing to consider if Dieng leaves Joe Walsh is next in the line before Mahoney going on his previous involvement with the first team. Westwood looks shaky to me and Archer not much better imo.

Thought Marshall has been excellent personally. Westwood is better than Archer but both are really only backup keepers to be fair.

Can't see Seny being here next season myself. Ideal candidate for back-up keeper for a Prem side. And we'll accept anything from 4 or 5m upwards, which is buttons for a Prem side in need to depth in the GK position.

Interesting situation in goal for us. 5 first team goalkeepers and questions over the future of probably 4 of them.

Apparently lot's of interest in Dieng, and Archer (whilst I appreciate he has been injured) hasn't been seen or heard of since being done for drink driving. I'd say there are certainly question marks there. I don't think it's a given at all they will both be here next season.

Archer is an accident waiting to happen with the ball at his feet, if Seny leaves offering Marshall another contract would be my choice.

What’s the position now aside from Dieng.
It was feast last season with the volume we ended up with but are we back to famine.
Is Archer still in contract or do we need bring a keeper in?

Archer has another year to run. Walsh, two years.
Westwood, Marshall and Barnes all out of contract.

If it were my decision I would sign up Marshall. Yes he made a couple of errors but can't think of a single keeper - ever, that hasn't.
Was a good, solid keeper and dare I say it. He was a better all round keeper than Dieng.
Certainly better at commanding his area and more confident coming out for crosses.

To be fair, absolutely nothing wrong with Dieng (if he's staying), backed up by Archer (if his shoulder is recovered and isn't going to jail) and Walsh (if he's over his hand/finger injuries). My only concern is the amount of "ifs" there.

Happy enough with Dieng (incumbent), Walsh (up and coming) and Archer (backup).
Money is really tight and I think we're unlikely to attract a really decent keeper to play second fiddle to Dieng.

Saw archer in the training pics. Unless we have the luck of last season we have I think 4 on books if you include Walsh so guessing this area of squad is set

Only worth strengthening there if 1 of Archer or Dieng are leaving in my opinion.

Absolutely the right decision to hang onto Walsh. Was unlucky to be injured when he would have been called upon last season. Deserves a chance to stake his claim as back-up keeper, ahead of Archer. Hopefully he starts tonight in the cup.
