Interesting and shows the Noury, data driven recruitment strategy Hal was referencing. Imagine Ainsworth and Hoos scouting a player like that!
Definitely need a Seny-type keeper who can distribute well next season. Asmir must be on big wages (for us) and am getting frustrated Asmir doesn’t seem able to catch a ball.

asmir needs replacing in the summer. mostly reliable but also dropped off a bit in the past month or 2 and doesn't fit the system.

To be fair to Asmir, his strengths are his shot stopping (yesterday's goal aside) and he has pulled off some top drawer saves this season. Distribution yes, not so good.

yep, he's an old school type of keeper tbh. quite weird to think that there are so many great keepers of yesteryear who'd struggle in todays game simply because of how the keeper role has evolved over the past 10 years.
look at nick pope as another example. exceptional shot stopper, one of the best in the league but barely gets a look in at england.

Distribution yes, not so good. not to be argumentative but this was the exact same excuse offered for Green when he was throwing the ball in the net. Literally a goalkeepers primary role is to pull saves off so I’m not sure it’s worthy of additional praise it’s what they are paid to do. Pulling off a great save don’t make up for letting in soft avoidable goals, one does not even out the other imo. Am I unfair saying this?

Yesterday, yes it was bad, but it was unusual for him to make such a bad error of that type, in the context of the season as a whole. You're absolutely right, pulling off saves is exactly what they're paid to do. But pulling off saves and pulling off several of the outstanding ones he's made this season (that have kept us in games, earning us points) aren't the same thing. IMHO.

Just done a quick search. Played 8 times for the national side, started as a striker so you’d assume he’d be comfortable with his feet/kicking. 27 years old and 6ft5. Other than that info a bit thin on the ground

That Rotherham keeper has had a fucking shitter tonight.
He’s let four goals in and one of them looks like he literally threw it in the net for some match fixing. I take back anything good I said about him

You can't get beaten from the angle Smyth beat him for the first, and he fell under Willocks shot for the second.

I agree Bego needs replacing but I would say overall he has done well for us. The odd howler but overall a decent signing.

One of my gripes with Begbie is that he never seems that involved. Perhaps I've missed him celebrating our goals, but he always looks like he's just going through the moitions to me.

He has done alright. Better in the last few months than the first few months.
Was regularly getting beaten from distances & shots he shouldn’t have been.

Big guy who doesn’t come for crosses. I’d rather see someone else here next year because avoiding the physical stuff does suggest he’s here for last pay day.

Given our position maybe we should be pleased he decided to come here.
Yes he makes mistakes but name me a keeper that doesnt.

Hope we hurry up and sort it.
Poor at times again today. First goal I need to see back but second one. Ffs how’s he getting beat from a lofted ball into the box at the back post by a poxy header.
Needs to finish the season and say goodbye.
