When Phil Neville was manager of the England womens team wasnt the half time team talk carried out on the pitch for obvious reasons ?

Not Ainsworth? A couple of years ago I would have strongly agreed without a second thought but he ticks a lot of our boxes. He’d be cheap. Has no budget, hardly any players but tries to play football recognising the limits of his team. But for cheating Derby he would have kept a hopeless team in the Champ and he’s kept them in contention for promotion again this year. Can’t help thinking if he was Portuguese or Spanish managing at a lower level he’d be on the radar of clubs like ours looking for someone to step up. I’d rather attract someone already at our level or above but I don’t think he’d be a disaster.

Imagine QPR having to sack Ainsworth after 3 moths? Yet another QPR legend sacked ? A scenario like that is also a reason for not going for him. Imo.

It will be 10 years in Sept that Ainsworth has been manager at Wycombe according to wiki.
It’s also been reported he’s spoken to Sunderland ,Ipswich and Preston, maybe he doesn’t interview well.

Those saying Bielsa need to give their head a wobble. He got £8m from Leeds a year.
Houghton is another 'dinosaur'. Been around the block. Did well at BHA but then went defensive and got sacked. Same again at Norwich. At Forest, he was getting them relegated, the same team that is now pushing for the top spots.

Bit harsh on Hougton. Has he not got Newcastle, BHA and Norwich promoted to Prem?
One bad outing on his record, Forest, and he’s now damaged goods. We spoke about this in another thread.
I probably would not want as first choice if we needed as perception is his brand of football is bit boring but would not be upset if he did get as there would be plenty worse out there

Hughton not Houghton also had one season at brum where he got them in the playoffs.
After leaving Forest it’s well known that Hughton said he had no say in transfers in or out.
As for being a Dinosaur thoughts like that would have ruled out Warnock wouldn’t they ?

He would do okay, don't get me wrong. Probably is an upgrade but he isn't the manager that he was years ago.
Newcastle - I could have got them promoted with that team.
He had good squads at BHA and Norwich. Got them up and went ultra defensive and boring. Forest, their fans couldn't stand the football.
He doesn't have the players here like the Knockharts etc that he had back then. He has a limited squad and I am not convinced his style of play will be liked by QPR fans. We don't like defensive managers or we'd still have JFH.

As this thread is titled who could do better than Warbs which managers would fit the post for you Spongeparr ?

To be honest, I don't know (also don't want Warbs out).
It would need to be a lower leagues manager who has got his squad playing well. Be good to have experience under the belt as well. My knowledge of the lower leagues isn't good enough but I am sure that there are others on here that would be able to suggest names that fit that.
Only problem is a number of people want a 'name'. I am not fussed by that. Warbs has us playing football and not hoofing it. It would be daft to get someone with a completely different philosophy so someone who can build on that.

Don’t think too many on here want MW to leave as it will undoubtably mean a reset and valuable time lost.
Me personally I think MW has taken us as far as he can and should step aside.

From what little information is available online this young manager fits the bill as Shania suggested earlier in this thread, obviously it may prove difficult as they look to be Championship bound.

Farke would be a good shout. Pretty sure his stock is higher than us but he's a good manager, id be excited to him him.
Someone like that Manning is who I would have thought we would go with. Joining us to make us better as he needs it, rather than someone from the usual merry go around just wanting a job for a year.
