I'd also imagine we'd be looking more in the continental market than the domestic one, given Marti and Nourry's connections. With that being said I do think we have missed a trick with Langstaff, if we were not even in for him. Absolutely. I'm not saying he is THE answer to all our prayers, all I'm saying is for that kind of money he is well worth a gamble. His record speaks for itself lower leagues or not. No one surely could tell me that guy will not score 10 goals next season. But, yes let's wait to see what the club pull out as we all know what we need. For those saying we can't afford to gamble, we've paid £875k for Varane (a gamble) whilst Langstaff was £750k I hope Varane does well, but I'd have rather got another good forward like Langstaff in and banish the jock into the reserves.

Hi, first post here. Looking through the squad list it appears QPR are a bit weak in the central midfield positions.
One player who I have followed fairly closely living in Sydney is Australian under 23 midfielder Jake Hollman who plays for Macarthur FC in the Aussie League.
Jake is a very clever and technically good footballer who can play as a pivot, box to box or more attacking midfielder. I genuinely believe he is well and truly Championship level.
There are some limited highlights of him on You Tube mostly focusing on his attacking characteristics but that is only one side of his game, could do a great job in one of the pivot positions if that's where the greatest need is, after watching players like Hayden Hackney from Boro I believe Jake has similar characteristics, in other words he would be an absolute bargain and worth many times the modest fee involved.
The above highlights are from the 23/24 season where he really took a step up on the attacking side of his game.
A goal Jake scored a few weeks back in the Cup which he created with a clever dummy and then finished off from the return pass.
In summary Jake is a player from an undervalued League who I believe would be a major asset for QPR in their quest for sustainability in the league.
PS remember watching Gerry Francis and Stan Bowles many years ago for QPR, were a fun team to watch in that era.

I think Marti was still after one or two in the transfer window, quite a few 'names' available on frees according to TransferMarkt. Interesting article on BBC about a showcase training camp put on by the PFA - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/clynp5j0pnyoWould a 34 year old Dwight Gayle at the right wage be worth a punt? Ravel Morrison available too...

I'd agree Alan, but would have been the kind of Chris Martin signing we'd have made under the old regime. That said, I'd be happy to have him on board for the right money, seems the 'right sort'.

I said I didn’t mind him being 34. If he’s hardly played that would have put me off, but you’re not finished at 34 if you’re still doing it.

For the conveyor belt: 24 years old Kayne Ramsey of Charlton is a highly rated RB/RWB.

Brandon Williams LB released by MU. This is a shout by the way. Proper player that's on the shelf that actually fills a gap that needs filling.

Not from what I've seen mate. Ipswich fans rate him too, my Ipswich mate is a bit miffed they haven't tried to sign him on a permanent basis. I think he's had some injury problems which might be why he's not found a club yet. Can play left or right back too, which would be very handy.

Would you take a punt on Dele Alli if he was prepared to drop down a division?
He's currently training with Everton without a deal.

He would never sign that - will probably end up in the Middle East hanging out the back of some silicon losely attached to a human being

Glad no one took my Langstaff bet the way it's looking 5 games - 0 goals Saying that, Millwall are turd in general and can't see Harris lasting too long.
