If we just need LB cover I would not be against going back Lee Wallace as back up for Paal Lee Wallace (free agent) or Niko Hämäläinen, as backup. It’s not really a debate, is it?

Lee Wallace? Another injury prone player who will probably need about 37 matches to find some form if we sign him - no, I`m not sure it would be a wise move to bring him in again.

The young LWB Fredrik Bjørkan, ex. Bodø Glimt, on loan from Herta Berlin would be an ideal loan option. Just a pity he would probably cost to much.

Its just about possible we will get a loan striker in but wouldn't be surprised if thats us done this window.

Another problem is that even when these players come back; injuries will hit again and we'll have this problem. There no freebies worth picking up?! Agreed and yes Lewis Grabban is a free agent and can finish so why not give that a go.

Watch him get picked up by someone like Brum or Fakes.

Get him on a pay as you play and goal bonus deal. No one else has picked him up so why not at least explore the option. The board and Ferdinand seriously need to look at themselves as this goalscoring issue is a 5 year problem. Hemed and Wells, Hugill and Wells all loans then 2 seasons and counting of Dykes tells you that.

Players we should go after? Billionaires of premiership quality who support QPR.

Might as well grab Grabban now.

If we one day decide to move Chair on Benji Sahraoui, a number 10, playing for Vålerenga in Norway, could be an option. He is a brilliant young player who is said to be too good for norwegian football already.

We're not going to be grabban Grabban, he's just signed a one-year deal with a Saudi club.

Will we go back for Archer in Jan?

I hope so Bill, he could be the missing piece to a final push over the line.
I’m not sure Gerrard rates him above his other strikers at Villa, before the season started when reporters were asking about Archer he said “if somebody came in with the right money for a permanent deal we would listen”

Danger is Gerrard gets sacked before Jan. Talking to a Villa fan today he said if they lose to Forest tonight the rumour is it will be time for Stevie G to spend more time with his Gangsta mates

Surely we have to have more in our locker for scouting than just players known to managers.
What’s the point in scouts if we just check managers back catalogue have done it last few managers.
Archer is good but I would like to think we have identified 3 or 4 players in each position so we have options.

If we are having to rely on loans in the Jan window then it’s previous relationships amongst clubs/managers that will determine the quality of player we get.
Noticed Sam Greenwood at Leeds has only had a couple of sub appearances so far this season, he was another summer rumour.
Sonny Perkins supposed wonder kid that Leeds poached from WHU recently could be another worth looking at on loan, he’s scored 7 goals from 7 games so far in Premiership 2.

Sooner rather than later, we have to prepare for life without Willoch because it looks like he`s already off somewhere else. I hope we can bring in Mehmeti from Wycombe in the January window. Iow Willock out, the former in. I’ve been on about Mehmeti for ages Shania, agree with you. Nice player, looks right and will only improve. He’s typical of what we should be looking at, a player who has slipped through the net. Not a direct replacement for Chair or Willock as he is a box to box runner.

ross stewart and lucas joao are both out of contract at the end of the season. might be worth trying to bring either one in, especially if we can offload dykes and bonne.
i'm also a big fan of shayne lavery from blackpool. he did very well last season but i think he's only scored 2 this year due to blackpool being shit and him being played out of position.

Think he was offloaded by Spurs or Arse as a kid and went non-league. Good athlete, scores goals and energises WW midfield. Would be a sound investment of the WC money especially if we sell Georginho and (sadly) Amos as they hardly figure.

No one is going to buy Thomas - like a number in our wider squad he is a liability not an asset, getting rid would mean paying off a large chunk of his contract. Same reason we couldn't get rid of Bonne.

think Caullum Robinson from Cardiff would be a good idea and offer us something different like a bit of direct pace?

Don't think he'd fetch much though to be fair. Bonne will go this window too, unfortunately he'll fetch a fraction of what we paid though!
