Might explain why Wolves drama was used as leverage for stronger bargaining position with board. thats what i think has happened tbh. he's obviously an ambitious manager and i think he has integrity and honesty about him too. he wants to get a promotion on his CV but he can't do that with dykes up top, heck, i don't think a management team of SAF and guardiola could pull that off. he must have been promised funds in january otherwise why would he turn down wolves? i think keeping wolves up is an easier task than getting us promoted tbh. i can certainly see us splash out on a proven striker in january. even if we don't get promoted it won't be a huge financial blow as we could just sell chair or willock in the summer for big bucks and be right on track to meet FFP again. Or even, heaven forbid, find a hidden gem (within budget) like our competitors seem to regularly achieve by employing a fit and proper scouting network?

If we have any ambitions of doing anything of note 2nd half of the season we absolutely need to find a way to bring in another option up top. You simply can't compete at any level with only 1 genuine option up front, who only shows up every 4 or 5 weeks.

If Beale does leave for Rangers (which I doubt) I hope we've got a target in mind

Doubt Beale would go, given what he said about the Wolves offer.
Actually, I doubt Rangers would go for him, I think they'll want a big name and Beale's had a bit of a wobble recently...

Honestly, I think Gerrard will just be straight back in for Rangers. Hmm, would be seen as a backward step after his failure at Villa, which wouldn't do much in his ultimate pursuit of the hot seat at Anfield when Klopp eventually leaves. And Rangers will probably wondering just how much of Gerard's success at Rangers was perhaps down to Mick Beale, so not sure they'd want him back. Mick Beale is sticking at Loftus Road (I hope...)

If he’s learnt anything from wolves he could shut any speculation down in 24hrs. We will learn an awful lot about him if there is speculation

When Gerrard left GR the fans despised him for doing so.I’m guessing there will be an interim manager appointed until next season.

People forget Gerrard was quite shit at Rangers.
Of 12 trophies on offer under him he won 1 against a piss poor Celtic side under Neil Lennon.
He’ll always be hero to them as he stopped Celtic doing the 10 but in reality Gerrard (and Beale) were piss poor.

Totally unproven but can’t be anything but impressed with what he’s done in a short time at Bournemouth. Seems a good honest lad. I’d just worry about how he’d cope when the bad results start coming as he’s nothing to draw on experience wise as a manager.

Cant afford Dyche Rab
Also they want a coach
Not a proven manager of pedigree
It does not fit the new vision
Dyche is the best out there though you are correct
