Hopefully the comment about the budget will help set expectations a bit. We all want success but we need to recognise even to make mid table we are punching.

I hope we get to see young players given a game or two for a change before we ship them out on loan. I can’t help being from the generation that saw some great players step up here and if the expectation is only mid-table surely we can have the pleasure of seeing one or two kids trying to make it in the game. Not a kid, but don’t tell me S D-M wouldn’t have contributed more to the team than Hendrick?

Never in my years have I seen so much hype about a new coach/manager.

Reckon he may well be rueing coming to us for his first crack as a number one. Unreal to think we cannot even give him the makings of a half decent squad to work with. What are the boards expectations this season as we know last season it was the play offs at least.

Tactically - Beale did a number on Wilder first half. Wilder definitely did a number on Beale second half but Mick just edged it in the end and deservedly so.

Thought the subs were smart Stan. Brought on Albert for an outlet when our forwards ran out of legs. Packed the midfield and shut up shop after that. Sensible game management.

Smart subs yes Tarbs, but Wilder definitely switched things up start of 2nd half to get them back in the game and dominated large chunks of that period. Thought we did so well considering all our missing key players and it was a deserved victory in the end. Boro are undoubtedly a good side though.

I`m really pleased for him, but imo he should have taken a very tired Dykes off for Bonne earlier.

He speaks very well. Wouldn't be surprised to see him manage in the prem if his management is on the same level.

It did help Boro scoring so close the the end of the first half...came out with a lot more confidence than if they'd have gone in at 3-0

There can be no doubt now that MB has his work cut out this season. I hope he relishes a challenge, because I think we can already see what a poor squad he's inherited. For that reason, he deserves to be given the whole season just to try and steady the ship. I don't know what the board offered him to come here, but if he can sort this mess out he deserves every penny.

And the board will hopefully make additional funds available for him. You may very well call it emergency funds.

How much weaker our squad is than it was last season? Can't see any big difference.

How much weaker our squad is than it was last season? Can't see any big difference. Injuries, and the fact that close to all the new signings are injured atm does not make up for the "loss" of players like Moses, Barbet, Austin and Barbet. Imo.

Deserves at least the whole season regardless of what he's inherited imo.
