So are we happier with Laird over Stirling and McNamara? For me no, purely because he will never be our player. But for all I know he could be the next Kyle Walker who was a beast in our promotion season so would be very happy to eat my words. |

It would be interesting to know how many of these loans are options to buy or obligations?
Aaron Drewe is another whose progress could be blocked even if he gets this current season out on loan.

I wasn't referring to any reported source. Beale himself has come out on more than one occasion saying his strategy is not loans for the sake of them, but for them to be with a view to permanent transfers. So hopefully this is one of them.

Any club communication is bollocks until Sky confirms it. I always feel like they treat fans as plankton and spew platitudes, condescension and lies.

Looking at Laird’s highlight reels he does appear to have played on the left a few times albeit in U21 games.
The thing that stands out for me about him is his regular ability to drop a shoulder to go past an opponent, his delivery from advanced positions look special as they are not just dangerous crosses but accurate passes to teammates inside the penalty area.

Good news as sounds like a promising player. Beale had said getting loans "kicks the problem down the road" but I guess that was all we could do. Forest apparently had 5 or 6 loans last season so it can work in the short term, albeit you are not developing your own players.
