Anyone know much about him? Warbs and Beale seem to have arrived at same conclusion ie our youth players aren’t good enough. That’s a big worry. Firstly it suggests our youth coaches aren’t that great and we’re investing a lot in the youth set up. Do the youth coaches genuinely believe these players are good enough? Or are they pushing an agenda? Either way it’s not good.

Been without a club since the end of last season as far as I know so will he even be match fit?

Been without a club since the end of last season as far as I know so will he even be match fit? Don't think he's an injury signing though (another department where we have questionable form). Might take a little while to get him up to speed, but he'll still be quicker than Johansen. (And a better skipper.) Btw dont think this is a done deal yet so lets not get ahead of the field....

Not unhappy with that. Missing more than a LB with Wallace gone. Might do an Angel.

Do our scouts actually do any kind of scouting for players that our manager or headcoach hasn't worked with? Easiest job in the world working for Qpr.

Does Balogun play up front?

Does Balogun play up front? Stop moaning - Lyndon Dykes is the best on Earth (apparently) and Mac Bonne never wants to play for Ipswich again, not EVER 😁

Centre Half. Quite mixed reviews from the Glasgow Rangers fans I know.

I'll give that some context. Ball playing centre half with a howler or 2 in him. Him and Dickie will get on well . That said, from what I remember, he's a good bit quicker than Dickie.

Solid enough back up as squad players. From games I’ve seen little bit like Dunne.
Never realised he was as old as he is

Never realised he was as old as he is For me it’s not really about the player himself - it’s that Warbs was sacked for not developing young players, Beale was meant to be all about youth, he even said that Dickie and Dunne didn’t need their hands held by an older defender. Then he goes and signs a 34-year-old. You couldn’t make it up

Stains, as I say, we'd never have made this signing had it not been for the JCS injury. Stopgap signing for a 34 year old on within-budget wages. Been over this on the other thread, haven't we? I can't see what the fuss is about personally.

Kind of get your point stains there do seem tonbe lots of contradictions between What club say and also what beales says and what we do. that’s why I’m not getting carried away, like most the fanbase about how well beale speaks, as there is a large waft of billy bullshitter about him. But he’s new and deserves a chance make a name for himself
On Balogun he only makes us stronger so no complaints from me. Think it signals us returning to 3 at the back so at the very least suggests Beale is quick learner and willing to change.

Think it signals us returning to 3 at the back so at the very least suggests Beale is quick learner and willing to change. That’s fair. But it’s not just the u turn on old defenders. He contradicts himself almost at every turn. He said he didn’t want loans as it kicks the problem down the road. Now the same report that revealed this old bloke was signing says we also want two very young Villa loans. He said Stef was one of the top passers in the division now apparently he wants to replace him. He made himself out to be something of a hero for making Willock and Amos stay on against medical advice and both then get injured. He complains about the fitness record of QPR players but the biggest crocks are his signings. I could go on. Honestly mate i don’t like complaining like this hopefully you know me well enough to say I’m generally one of the more positive posters - I normally defend our managers and the club. But it seems to me there was a v clear strategy that is being ripped up out of short term desperation. If we are going to sign someone, speak to Andy Belk who hopefully has a long list of properly researched targets based on sports science. This signing is literally back to Warbs signing Lee Wallace because he was the right sort at Rangers back in about 1984. Fair enough. But then why have all these youth development coaches and sack Warbs if we are just going to go for the same kind of short term fixes? Sorry if I sound overly negative on this.

A 'fuck you' to existing players and a complete denial of the need for a warm body, actually a dead one would do, to lie on the pitch near the opposition penalty area.

Reading the stuff about his character, maybe Beale decided he needs a leader in the dressing room?
Gotta be said, I think Johansen is a pretty shit Captain!

Signing a CB seems odd. Thought we have enough in that position but a bit of experience and a title winner isn't a bad thing to have.

If youth aren't up to it, JCS is out and the rest of them iffy, wtf is he supposed to do? We concede at set pieces, a lot. We have to change that and I think this could be a step towards sorting that out. We lost a lot of players vs last term and have injury problems, plus a board who wont spend even when presented with a massive financial opportunity. That is the reality for any manager crazy enough to work with them. MB is in at the deep end, but compared to some of the signings under Warburton this one makes sense.

Needs must i guess but when are we going to have a strategy and policy we stick with.Just making it up as we go along? Leadership i agree as in other posts, something that has been missing for a very long time, hope he is the answer
