Too one footed to be a top player. You have to be really good to get away with having a swinger. Even useless Kane can use his left foot occasionally.

Of the players we have right now Chair is the obvious choice to play the Ten role but has become too predictable in possession.
Would be much easier to judge him next season and perhaps under a different manager.
Still warrants a place in this team for me.

There's something massively wrong with his mindset. Every time he's about to enter the penalty box he breaks and turns left to go away from the most dangerous areas. I would like to kick his ass next time he does that.

Benchmeat for me for a while. Replaced by Willock in the same formation. Good in the middle third of the pitch, working triangles and 'protecting the football', but not incisive enough in the final third. Often far too slow to release the ball. Can think of some assists, but not many telling passes. And not direct enough. Willock has hardly featured recently and that really puzzles me. He has looked great I think.

Good move offers the club some security in the event he lifts off

Important player for us as about the only one who can make something out of nothing To be fair Todd Kane has made something happen out of nothing a few times this season, unfortunately for us!

Chair-mendous news!
Looks like the club may have learned something from the slow, tedious, dragged-out nonsense of negotiating with Samuel...

I’m Chairs biggest fan but think it’s time he needs a rest as it’s noticeable to most that currently he invariably slows down so much of our attacking play.
Too many times he receives the ball ,stops ,changes direction ,takes too many touches ,then lays it off sideways or backwards.
Rscot made a good point that he dosnt know what his his next move is when he receives it.
Maybe a spell off the bench would do him some good to re focus.

My comment may also be harsh about being benched as he’s still only played regularly for a season or so.

His talent is unquestionable. Just needs better coaching to iron out his weaknesses. You really hope this is happening.

There’s a player in there, maybe it’s inexperience and maybe he’s trying too hard and trying to do too much. But I think if he just keeps it simple, most of the time, he’d be much more effective and the team would benefit. One touch football, pass and move, in the oppositions final 1/3, I want to see more of that from him. On the other hand maybe it’s his mentality, in which case he needs to learn a little humility and learn to listen. He’s not the finished article, there’s plenty room to improve, technically there are way better players out there, he’s not super dooper special. And I’m pretty sure most of the real super dooper players are humble in nature and good listeners. In the old days up here in dour Scotland an old school manager like Jim Maclean would’ve changed his outlook in minutes.

Clearly a talent. He has a lovely touch. And offers so much protecting the football. Masterful in the middle third of the pitch. But he's so one footed, which need not be a problem, and rarely produces a killer pass. Dead balls? Oy.

A very promising player, but he tends to play with his head down. It sure must affect his vision, imo.

Come in for a little bit of criticism last season, not quite reaching his potential and all that. Anyone else reckon this could be a big season for him, judging by pre-season performances?

Both he and willock have really impressed during pre season.
Personally think willock will out shine him during the course of the new season.
Exciting times ahead.

Unless he’s improved on the areas he never shone in last season (left foot, set pieces and not overplaying) then when we get down to the nitty gritty of the season it will be more of the same. Loads of potential but slightly short
In fairness he’s looked decent pre season so hoping he has improved
