Fantastic news.
Just thought of a song we could sing for him:
Oh sit down, oh sit down, sit down next to me....
should I get my coat?
(yeah I know there's a Mo Salah chant to this)

Very mixed feelings on rejoicing about contracts. Yes they are a positive - we rate player and player is happy here. Both club and player will change their minds if a good offer comes in. Then all a contract means is we might get a bit more for the player. still great news all round though. chair will be a great player one day and will certainly make a career in one of the top 4 leagues but the fact that he views us as the best place to be right now to further his career can only be a good thing. we as a club need to build a squad slowly whilst turning over profits and having a constant turnover of incomings and outgoings whilst gradually getting better and better with each passing season. theres no reason not to think that come the end of the season eze and chair could easily be worth 20m-30m combined in todays market. think of how well that could be invested. i love nothing more than seeing a player grow and develop with us and then seeing them achieve things lol.

Then all a contract means is we might get a bit more for the player. So what is the negative then ? Player happy / we can bargain more on any offer All good in my book

I was a bit harsh on him in the match thread. But a player in his position should create or finish chances. He does neither.

nterview Ilias Chair, young Belgian in the English Championship: "Belgium? Ambition is rather Premier League" Editorial Today 13:32 | 0 comments "IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME THAT PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ME IN BELGIUM"Ilias Chair, young Belgian in the English Championship: "Belgium? Ambition is rather Premier League" The most famous Belgian in the Championship is undoubtedly Denis Odoi. Two fellow countrymen play at Stoke City with Ngoy and Verlinden. And then there is ... Ilias Chair. The young Antwerp resident is one of the revelations this season with Queens Park Rangers. Ilias Chair may play 'only' in the English second division, but make no mistake: "the level is very high here", Chair assures us. "The bar is being raised higher and higher every year. Many teams have budgets and players at Premier League level." Nevertheless, our 22-year-old compatriot finds the longer his turn in a competition that is often stamped as one of the most physically demanding in Europe. And that is not evident for the slender Ilias Chair , which measures just 1.71m. "Actually, I see my posture as an advantage. Sometimes it seems that the big English defenders do not know what to do. And as far as that physical aspect is concerned, things are getting better and better. But the first season was very difficult, as with almost all newcomers here. We often play three games a week. " "Belgium? Go Premier League" Chair grew into a permanent value at QPR . Nevertheless, his performance in Belgium remains under the radar for the time being. "That doesn't bother me. I'm sure they'll get to know me if I keep going on like this." For example, a return to the Jupiler Pro League could quickly change that. Ilias Chair : "Some Belgian top clubs sometimes asked my agent, but that is not the case now. Now I want to finish the season in a good way at QPR . Then we will see again. But I admit: it is my ambition to ever play in the Premier League. And if I continue to evolve in this way, I think this should be achievable ", the ambitious Antwerp citizen concludes. Ilias Chair reacts to the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough and also explains where he must look to improve his game this season. (They screwed up the audio so you'll need to turn up the volume):

Very gifted, promising player. If he works on his decision making more and improves it, we have a hell of a player imo. Often (against Boro especially) he holds onto the ball too long and doesn't know when to release it. Give him time, he'll get there.

Looking at Preston game we bypassed midfield and kept playing it long to Bonne..the players like BOS ,Willock Chair and Albert need to be able to go past opponents, not just play keep ball for the sake of it. unfortunately chair is not a player who can go past people the more I see him more evident it is. No change of pace and hand on heart can’t honestly think of a time he has gone at a player and tried to beat them. Usually cuts in and passes. Initially thought he was the next man after Eze big question marks over him now

Initially thought he was the next man after Eze big question marks over him now Only last game he skillfully dummied and went past a player, but was then cynically hacked down from behind. He does have good skills. I agree with you he doesn't have a change of pace though.

Chair is not a bad player but he's running out of energy and ideas. Should be rested and used as an impact sub for the following 2-3 games.

Biggest disappointment of this season for me is how little Chair has kicked on. Need to find another option in terms of a playmaker.

Benchmeat for me for a while. Replaced by Willock in the same formation. Good in the middle third of the pitch, working triangles and 'protecting the football', but not incisive enough in the final third. Often far too slow to release the ball. Can think of some assists, but not many telling passes. And not direct enough.
