I think Critchely will come good and I like te fact he is calling out the players. I imagine he will stick up for them once he get's committment from them, but you can see now that there isn't much coming. So many average players, and then our back up isn't good enough. People complain or call for subs, but who do you bring on?! Our bench usually has the injured Richards, old & slow Adomah, Dozzel, Kakay and Niko. Who comes on that changes things? Id ship all of those out for a start. With the exception of Richards. I’d give him more time. He started on the back foot with the injury and hasn’t had time to get up to speed with it being stop start. 500k or whatever it is, good age, knows the club and what it means to the community and from what I’ve seen can play football. I think there’s a player there. Adomah has age running away from him so I’d let him go in the summer with a thankyou and a handshake. The rest can absolutely fuck right off

I don’t think Critchley has done himself any favours calling the players out again when he has very little in the way of instant replacements, he said similar things after playing Fleetwood.
We are not Arsenal or Man U that can back the manager rather than the players that are not performing for Critchley and his coaches.

That's my point. If it isn't going well, there is very little to bring on to change it as the subs are a lot worse than the 11. Plus having Willock, Johansen out isn't helping.

Agree. Big stinking pile of turd atm. Pathetic how the same players we know can perform are now so gutless. Same this time last season these players have previous for downing tools. Never ANY excuse for that no matter who's in charge. End of.

He apportioned all the blame on the players but is he reflecting on what input he put into that game too? would you have selected that team and formation for that game Stan. He could have said I also made mistakes too.

I would say he is, because in all his interviews he always makes it plain that, as head coach, it's his job to continually highlight all the problem areas and rectify them. would you have selected that team and formation for that game Stan. No. But I'm not in the best position to judge as I'm not on the training ground and dressing room everyday like he is. I don't watch all the B team and U18 games either, which presumably he does.

I’m a suspicious type and would also question why the inside training videos have stopped for the past couple of weeks. When Warburton and Beale took those sessions they were both front and centre, I can’t say the same with Critchley.

As much as I agree that Critchley has inherited a shit show, he needs to earn his wage and get these players playing for him now. I think he probably needs a couple of his own signings in. Just something to add a bit of spark and some fresh ideas. Whether this is gonna be possible this window remains to be seen. thats my issue. you can give a new manager the benefit of doubt over a couple of games of absolute dross when he's first arrived as he's figuring the squad out but you have to ask questions if that same dross is still being served up 10 or so games in. the fact that we still look so uninspired and devoid of confidence lies with the manager, if he's not giving them a lift then he's not doing his job properly. rob edwards by camparison is doing a great job at stepping into nathan jones shoes at luton and you could argue that them losing a manager so integral to who they are is a bigger blow than us losing the eel. NC needs to change things up ASAP or he needs to go. there's no two ways about it as what we're seeing now is some of the worst stuff i've seen in years. at least on our previous poor runs of form under warbs the players still had some fight about them and were losing due to poor game management more than anything else. i've always been of the mind that we're never gunna be world beaters and i don't expect us to win every game but what i do expect is a bit of passion and fight for 90 minutes once or twice a week. i have no problem losing 3-0 to hull if we'd fought tooth and nail throughout the game but lost simply because hull were better or simply got lucky, it is what it is. but ffs NC has to work with what he has. we don't have a bad team on paper and there's an argument that our 4 AM's are 4 of the best players in the league on their day. switching to a 3 at the back should be NC's next step as dickie and dunne are an awful pairing. Agree with your comments about him underperforming but I would question whether we can even afford to sack him (3 and a half year contract), plus given we would look like even more of a shit show at that point, what manager who we could realistically attract would be any better? Critchely's remit is clearly to develop players to sell them on and his success/ failure there will take some time to figure out.

No, don’t sack him, live with the error if it is that, and recruit better around or above him. And forget all this developing players to sell for profit until we are stable and looking up instead of down. Eze aside, did we get lucky on that one, there is no evidence we are any good at it.

I am still amazed that people are saying to sack Critchely.
2 of our most influential players are not fit (Willock and Johansen). When both weren't fit under Beale and Warburton, we were also shit.
He hasn't been able to bring anyone in yet. Beale and Warburton both had pre seasons. Results started slowly at Blackpool before it clicked and they looked like an energetic, exciting team.

It does seem odd after just 7 games. Isn't the standard 10-15 games? And you're of course correct to cite his Blackpool achievements.

I tend to agree with Alan and Stainrod we’ve made our bed picking Critchley so stick with him as we can’t afford to do anything other than that.
As to his previous achievements Blackpool finished mid table last season and got them out of League 1.
The question I would ask if you had been sat in on his interview with the owners would you have selected him based on his general persona for a tough job at QPR? I definitely wouldn’t.

I remember reading somewhere the agent of an unnamed manager apparently telling him after Beale had just been interviewed by us: "They've just had Beale in to talk to him. We have no chance now." Crithchley was I seem to remember a name being mentioned round about the time we appointed Beale. I just wonder if he was that manager. Decent cv, track record of developing mediocre players, but lets face it he is never going to get a job on charisma. Just think we have to work to his strengths now. He doesn't APPEAR like much of a motivator (I can't even face watching his interviews) but we have to hope that his coaching/ development skills make up for that somehow.

The grass is not always greener on the other side...

In some aspects all the above managers named had a noteworthy trait to entitle them to be a leader amongst a group of men?

Toure has never been a manager. They haven't played well and showed no signs of improving. Clitchley has got promotion, punched above their weight. Plus a history of working with youngsters and a smaller budget. I am not saying he is the masiah or anything, but he's better than what some fans are making out. I am convinced it's purely down to his voice that people haven't taken to him. We were 30 seconds away from a great win vs Sheff utd. Deserved to win vs Swansea. Already won and drew a few more though we have had these shit results; something all of our other managers have also had.

He was spot on and for me, those not pulling their weight need to know it If they aren't prepared to put in a shift when they pull on the shirt they need calling out. Harry did it, Pep does it (and has a go at the fans if they too quiet), Klopp aint afraid of saying we were shite. The old skool days of keeping it all behind closed doors have been and gone. Fans don't want to hear meaningless spin.
