Just looked at the League 1 table; Wycombe are 8th, 4 points off 6th with a game in hand. It's not impossible that we get relegated and Wycombe get promoted. Would they wave at Gareth on the way past? What a scenario that is, would really fuck with your head if you were Ainsworth.

Throw into the mix Nakhi Wells scoring the winner against us on the final day and Warnocks Huddersfield leapfrogging us to send us down and It really does look like the stars could be aligning, but not in a good way.

Mercury will actually be in retrograde between April 21 and May 14 this year, for those who believe that sort of thing. Bound to happen 🤣

Seems to happen three or four times a calender year, that’s about the same as goals scored per calender year by Dykes so it could actually be a good sign after all as he’ll hopefully bang one in against Brizzle.

Me too. Stan brought the saying to my attention in the Birmingham match thread, discussing Ainswirth making excuses for the Blackpool debacle with leighsie. Turns out they were both wrong, but stan with less than half a century 🤣

Bound to happen 🤣 Mercury retrogrades affect everyone equally though (put very simply), so in terms of results it shouldn't make a difference either way. I'm actually fascinated by things like this; I have made a rough empirical study over many years of the effects retrogrades have had on my life, and one thing I have noted is that all the worst arguments I ever had with my last girlfriend happened during mercury retrogrades (this was over a 6 year period, so approx. 18 retrogrades). The astrological principle is that mercury is the planet of communication, so things that relate to that in any way during a retrograde can become problematic or stuck or slow..... Anyway, do carry on.

So in hindsight Hubs was arguing with your girlfriend a retrograde step?

Only 3 points off the drop zone, with the worst GD other than an improving Wigan. Rotherham and Cardiff have to play each other, after which we'll be in 20th place, whatever the result. Continue this form and we're down. Dire. Preston next.

Can we hope that Hudderfield will lose the next few matches after the boro win ? Are they really that good?

That's a nice graphic Westie - quite like those odds of just a 23% chance of relegation.
I do think the last drop spot will be one of Rotherham, Cardiff, Huddersfield or us.

Great news this!
I thought the deadline for any deduction this season passed about a week or two ago? But the BBC report makes no mention of it being deferred till next season.
