Been odds on since Mc was let go and not changed since. I would not be suprised one bit if Sherwood is the man wanted.

Bowyer's assistant at Charlton is Johnnie Jackson so not sure why Steve Gallen would be coming as number 2 if he was given the job. Like the idea but have a feeling it is bollox and a smokescreen for Ferdinand to appoint Sherwood. Steve Gallen is part of Bowyer's backroom staff and knows QPR inside out mate......ain't too much of a leap, is it?

I would not be suprised one bit if Sherwood is the man wanted. Reckon there'd be a mass revolt if that happened 73 The man LF wants is one thing, the man they ultimately appoint is another.

But Sherwood is good at developing youngsters and getting them through? Doesn`t that count? A no-nonsens character he is aswell. And honestly, who cares about his personality if the players respect him. Just a thought..

Maybe not Tarbie but I do know that Jackson and Bowyer are very tight. Anyway think all these links are just that as convinced Sherwood will have first dabs on the job.

We also have to consider the idiots at board level who will be involved in this process so cannot be confident of them getting it right.

The more I hear Lee Bowyer's name the more it grows on me, He has done really well with no money and also brought money in from player sales while staying competitive in the top 6 of league one. Yes it is a risk but rather him than Warburton or Sherwood. This is how I'm starting to think as well if I'm honest. Got a sneaky feeling it could be a really shrewd appointment should it come off.

I think SMac was done and dusted a few weeks back, around the time I last posted on here (suggesting that this was the case). They weren't playing for him anymore and these days that's game over, so in that respect it was the right decision.
However, as many of us have pointed out, it is insane to save a few grand a week in January loans only to be looking down the barrel of a gun come April.
Our problem is, and has been for a very long time, incompetence at board level. We have to be wise enough to sustain our championship status within the constraints we have, and that is possible. Hoos has implemented a strategy at the board's behest which has risked our status. We're don't do smart at QPR because we don't have anyone with the necessary football smart on the board or close to it. Take Les - director of football? Not in a million years.
We find ourselves further down the league than we were when Air Asia flew in, millions of pounds ago. That says it all. I'd love to see a supporters trust running the club - Pompey did it and it worked out - but I have no idea how, in our case, control could be wrested back from the vastly incompetent hierarchy in place. How much would it take? Any accountants in tonight?

Bowyer as Manager, Steve Gallen as Assistant? Gotta admit the idea is growing on me! Bloody hell. I thought Gallen was with KJ at Portsmouth. Makes the potential appointment of Bowyer even more appealing!!!

I'd love to see a supporters trust running the club - Pompey did it and it worked out - but I have no idea how, in our case, control could be wrested back from the vastly incompetent hierarchy in place. How much would it take? Any accountants in tonight? There was some feeling that we should have a fans trust running the club when we we went into administration and I always thought it would be a good idea. The problem is, I suspect, that having such a set up means living within our means and acknowledging not only the size of the club but the limitations that come with it. I, and I suspect many of a similar age and older, would be happy with a team who compete competitively in the Championship and have occasional forays in the Premier League and Cup runs. For a club of our size, in 2019, that is success and it would guarantee we pass on the club to future generations. The problem, however, is that the youngsters who are already in the majority are encouraged by outside influences to think that bigger is better and if you're not successful in terms of trophies - or showing tangible and excessive ambition to win them - then you have failed. That school of thought will hinder our ability to operate a club which cuts its cloth accordingly. Completely agree with everything there mate, good post.

I don’t agree with this bringing on youth above all else philosophy. Let’s just make the 1st team better and everything else will follow. Why spend millions on a youth team academy when we can poach decent youth team players from other clubs for peanuts in comparison. Let Chelsea and others put money and time in, we can just pick players that are deemed not quite good enough for Chelsea at present.
The issue with above is getting right people in to see this through. A club our size does not need a director of football. Neither do we have to hire ex qpr players to do the jobs.

If it is Bowyer who do you think has identified him? LF is the only football person on the board so logic says it would have to be him.

Bloke's an utter clown.

Remind me how it went at Swindon while he was there. Is it punctuationally correct for rhetorical questions to have no question mark, Hubs? Have often wondered
