Owners knew what they were getting in terms of his style/presentation. I do think people going in a bit hard on his look as if we were flying and picking up results no one would care. Suppose he could do bit more to smarten up his act but then he’s bending over for the crowd and if results or performances stay the same what difference would it make if he’s stood in a tracksuit with short back and sides he’s still going get dug out. Guarantee we wouldn't be getting these comments if we hadn't lost on Wednesday. He’s all over the place Stan and for me he’s dragging the fans on a similar journey , it’s not dissimilar to Holloway antics.
Look at the way he’s treated both Willock and Kelman, doubt anyone on here rates Kelman but how can he be first choice in opening game to then be bombed out in the next.
Look at the bollox he’s spouting today.

If the average punter on the street don’t respect his image then no chance the players will. If I was a player I’d have more respect for how GA looks than how Beale did. Imagine being told to bust your balls physically by someone whose gut looked like he used to be a dart player. |

he does look scruffy but that’s his look. Beale was unshaven and had pot belly and got few digs for his physique. Ollie seemed to have a breakdown before our eyes and go full perky blinders. Ramsey looked odd in the beeny all the time. We can’t half pick ‘em What I’m saying is people judge far less about appearances if you’re successful, no matter what walk of life. It would just be classed as ‘eccentric’ or some such and put a positive spin on. sure, appearance shouldn't matter but psychologically it really does. Got someone doing some work at the moment, got quotes, one of them was from the pikiest looking fucker I've ever seen. And I've seen a few. He was fine to chat to, had a laugh, but I just knew I couldn't had him the keys to the job. I'd have a pint with him but no way could I employ him. You can say that's irrational, but like I said, these things do matter. |
