I would have him as one of the better performers. Did Armstrong not miss the first chance miss hitting it towards Kakay who put wide?? There left back had the freedom of our half in the first period. Just not very good and his miss sums him up for me. Think you need dig out Smyth then as he was RWB

According to London and Sinton on QPR+ we started with 4 at the back today.

Looked like 3 to me with paal and Smyth playing WB.
Noted four times Smyth letting their left side drift past him

According to London and Sinton on QPR+ we started with 4 at the back today. Definitely three at the back. Solid in defence all game bar for the goal. Didn't turn up second half. Can't fault effort, but they're no strength in depth. Game over once Armstrong came off. Need to use Chair more. Hoping he latches on to a second ball isn't a game plan. Unimpressed with Willock. Colbeck needs to be fitter. Armstrong and Smyth the bright spots for me. Should've taken our chances first half.

Think Chair crossed the ball, Kakay miskicked it wide, Armstrong had his body square on to the goal line and unable to even see the ball behind him. tbf to kakay the ball came right at him with power and it more or less bounced off him it was defo 3 at the back too with kakay moving into midfield at times

Perhaps you are right West Acton but 100% not what London and Sinton said TWiCE in the first 10mins.
I agree with you on Smyth, he got huge praise at Cardifff but when I looked again at re-run over 90 mins his final ball was non existent barring the cross for Armstrong.

Smyth don’t even come close to doing enough to block that cross ☹️

I’ve never seen a manager so happy in defeat before
Both Norwich last week and now Ipswich and he sounds like we just won the cup.
His highlight comment for me is…..
“That will do for me today”
What an embarrassment

He’s got to stop sounding so desperate. We know it’s a struggle Gareth, don’t keep banging on about it.

We did deserve something out of the game based on the performance but I really don't like how happy Gaz seems. Sure, be happy about the performance like everyone should be, but not the result. That'll do for me? Makes it sound like he's happy with the loss. Could've used that platform to highlight the need for strikers even more.

Smyth don’t even come close to doing enough to block that cross ☹️ ‘Those 2 lads in there were excellent!!! Saw them giving the qpr fans grief from on high 😂 then when we scored they came running out to celebrate’ Why would you post something as pathetic as that? Not sure you can even see into the box from below.

I can take Ainsworth being happy about the effort and work rate as we've had some fucking wasters in the squad recently and the difference now is a real sign of change.
However, he cannot be happy in defeat 2 or 3 more matches down the line as that is where attitude should turn into application.
Personally, I think we are going to struggle as we have fuck all in depth BUT we are giving it a go and will only get better the more the team settles.

Defence is a big thing for me
If you can’t defend you cant win or draw
At least the defence is good 4 cbs when fit
All not to shabby
Do need a striker though

Just watched extended highlights of the game and can only really sum that up in one word.
Unlucky.
On another day we'd have won that 3-1, the ball just would not go in the net. Ipswich never really threatened other than the goal and a comfortable Begovic save. Really need a good goal scorer though, even a poacher will do. And up the fitness levels because by 75-80mins we were out on our feet. Don't think anyone really had a bad game to be honest.

Agree but you have highlighted two problems that have been apparent, and not addressed, for some time. Striker and fitness. We can’t go on being unlucky - that won’t keep us in the right half of the table.

It's been like this for too long and if we want to push up the table we can't just rely on the youngsters, no matter how talented they are. That said, I'm happy with the performance yesterday, gutted by the result.

Genuinely unlucky yesterday and deserved at least a draw. Luck evening itself out over a season is the only consolation.

Hitting two posts and not going in is unlucky. Missing from two yards out is not. If we don’t score goals luck won’t come into it.

I don’t think it’s unlucky having just 38% possession stats at home to a team that just come up from League 1.
We are/have become a laughing stock under Ainsworth.

We are have become a laughing stock under Ainsworth. saw this but unsure if it’s a chart how a club can be off it? surely you would just sit in the lowest possible quartile not actually off it. For that reason I was not taking it seriously.

The graph is in .2 increments, I would estimate we are rock at somewhere between .1 and .2 m/s. and not outside of the parameters of the shown scale. , Admittedly it’s been drawn for max effect.

We are have become a laughing stock under Ainsworth. Don't meant to be contrary Sparks but that's subjective IMO. Too early to draw the knives out until 10 games into the season. Where I agree, and have said it for months, is we've failed for the last SIX transfer windows to sign a goal scoring striker or two and, once again, have left it way too late. The last time was Wells and Hugill three farking years ago.
