I 110% would not get rid of Marti but if we did I hope they would have learnt from summer window that you cannot always look outside the UK and on occasions you need some championship savy. To get another novice from abroad would be bordering negligence.

Nothing would surprise me. Nourry taking a lesson from the Les school of survival: every disappointing season, sack a manager or two to deflect the blame. Les survived - what? - 8 managers. Brings to mind the old sexist joke about the female driver: "She's never had an accident in all her years of driving. Seen thousands though..."

no way would we replace marti with vignal. only 10 games as a manager in the french third tier with a PPG of 1.1 before being sacked.
if he was indeed talking to the board at games as the article suggests then it's probably regarding a different coaching role at the club.

Well, the club has a history of sacking managers and we are not exactly going to lure Kurgen Klopp out of retirement. And there is no way Nourry is going to go for a younger version of Sam Alardyce.

It all makes the new Marti contract decision seem even more bizarre.
Nourry would have had a big part in that. Makes me wonder if the Vignal thing isnt just Nourry spin, although I cant see why he'd go down that road. It obviously helps no one except lift Vignal's profile. Wonder who his agent is....

Look: I've coached athletes that have made me look like one of the greatest coaches. People asking me coaching advice. News paper articles. Magazine articles. Online stories. I've also coached athletes who just didn't "have it" and as a coach, I certainly though I could overcome those obstacles, just to fall short on many occasions.
I feel like Marti is better than he is showing, he just doesn't have the right toys to play with. Other than a roster overhaul, I'm not sure what kind of manager can come in here and do much better.
