I rrally like this bloke, diesnt smell like the same Bull we used to get from the other bloke Only thing I would say on that, is he hasn't been here long enough. If in a years time, he is saying the same things and we haven't had great results then that narrative will change. Hopefully not, I like him and how he talks. But I dont think he's been in role long enough to try/need to BS the fans.

I will start by saying my first impressions are I like him but I’ve listened to that interview and read some of the associated press releases and not to put noses out of joint for those that have gone all in on him but lots of what he’s said we've heard before. Take away the name Nourry and replace it with Fernandes, Ruben, Les or Hoos he’s talking from the same crib sheet.
He obviously gets time to put his print on things but I don’t think there is anything new or exciting in what he said its another voice regurgitating the same ambitions.
Talk is cheap so I’m not taking in by the words, what I see on the pitch and off it will sway my opinion not PR press releases.

I would not expect a total revolution in what a CEO has to do or ow they do it but long term change comes in small steps. You are right that we can only judge on results - I for one think things have changed quiet dramatically in the way things happen off the pitch and as Marti proved last season and I feel confident he will do again this season once the team settles we have changed for the better on the pitch. So it may still be early days but there is nothing to stop people forming an early opinion which of course can change for better or worse over a period of time. Any follower of football if they sit back and think will agree that at some time in the future things will go wrong - what have Manu fans being saying for a couple of seasons now. All we can hope for now is that things continue to improve to the point that when we do hit a bad patch the outcome will not be disastrous as. it would have been under the old regime. Just imagine if the old school had stayed in place and stuck with Ainsworth.......

He’s defo appears to have increased sponsorship in club as everything seems to be associated to some other partner. God knows what the deals are worth which I suppose has to be the ultimate determining factor.

Only natural to be skeptical about Nourry, given the decade plus of bollocks at board level that we've had to endure. I'm in a same boat, I like what he's done so far and I like how he comes across but he's got to do a lot more, consistently, before I believe he's an improvement on the previous lot. Only time will tell, and proof is in the pudding.

Personally I think he comes across very differently to Fernandes, Ferdinand and Hoos. He also gets some credit for recruiting MC, our best manager in how long? And if you read and listen to all three of the latest interviews, it's clear there's a very close relationship between him, CF, Xavi Calm and Andy Belk. You also need to take into account the on the field improvements since his arrival in January And just to be clear, in no way should the above be interpreted as "going all in on him", but just looking at it objectively. Obviously proof will be in the pudding (not the rhetoric) over the long term, so I agree with you that much remains to be seen.

No. All I'm looking for is consistency, that's it. Under the previous regime(s) it was consistently a cowboy shit show. With Nourry in place at the moment everything seems to be a little bit more professional. Just a continuation of that for a prolonged period, that's all.

I think he’s a massive improvement on previous regime already. Two main reasons 1) before any player signed was someone the manager wanted, irrespective of any club philosophy. So when we get rid of manager we were left to start all over again. Now we’re signing players in clubs philosophy. 2) prior regime had conflicts with prior managers because they pushed youth. Nourry has been brutal in releasing players that aren’t up to it. We’re signing young players and improving the playing level.

Just a continuation of that for a prolonged period, that's all. I would say some of the previous regimes were consistent - consistently bad. To say we want consistency - consistency in what?. Open ended like that is like giving one of my managers his annual appraisal and objective setting for the next year and just saying "be consistent" If we want to measure progress there must be some clear measurable objectives - it is extremely likely that an ambitious Nourry has his own self set objectives as well as those set by the club but we do not know what they are so cannot judge if he meets the objectives. I expect the true measure of how successful he is will be how quickly he leaves to pick up a top job in the PL, Europe or the US in football or other sport. The more successful he is. the more likely he will leave sooner.

One thing I think would be a sign of progress is no longer losing players of value for nothing as they have run down contracts.
Progress on a new ground or redeveloping Loftud Road
Getting players cheap and selling them on for a profit
Challenging for play offs season in season out (think maybe out of his hands but he contributes)
Not worrying about the finances.

Good starting point and not sure how much far we could take it remotely. The interesting and good thing is that in each of those objectives he will not be working alone but has to build and use the right teams to work with him - that is one key sign of a good manager.

Would also love see proper presence at Westfield regards club shop and maybe chance to buy tickets. There are now so many empty units in White City surely some form of deal can be done get something there affordable with Westfield maybe getting some advertising via us or match day experiences for their clients.

Try reading this interview with Les from 2015 as a comparison: www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-league/les-ferdinand-interview-it-s-about-time-we-broke-the-mould-says-qpr-director-of-football-10497222.htmlIt's all heart. Nothing in depth about strategy, data sets, methodology, or any other stuff you'd expect from a director. Club Ambassador, yes. Director of Football, no.

To achieve all of the above would be a bit more than progress and be a total transformation, surely? Very sensible goals but given what he inherited let’s judge him against those metrics in 3 to 5 years. For instance if we do start challenging for the play offs we would be doing so on budgets a fraction of rivals. So that wouldn’t just be good it would be truly outstanding. Hoos, Les, “Amit”, etc didn’t get close to this bar a couple of tiny false dawns in a decade.

Maybe it is to test the water before deciding if it is worth the outlay, but it would be good for there to be a shop in there all the time.
Brand awareness, make it clear how near the ground is from there, all that sort of stuff. Tourists love football merch, so get involved.

I guess more comparable would be if Brentford/Fulham have stores away from the club? Not saying that we shouldn't if they don't but maybe it isn't the be all and end all.

If reports are true, Madsen cost 2.8m and Varane 875,000. Celar presumably cost a few quid. Not fortunes in footballing terms but a lot of money for us - jury very much out on whether that money was well spent. Les is dead long live the next Les Les was DoF for a decade. Nourry has been CEO for 8 months. Bit early to start making fair comparisons, isn't it?

I like a lot of fans would like to know who and how identified our summer signings? think it's largely down to belk with input from nourry and marti. it's a route we have no choice but to go down if we want to be ambitious. i've said it many times but we could have signed loads of morgan fox type players but where does that leave us? midtable really, you know what you're gunna get with that kind of player not to disrespect them. signing a guaranteed quality championship player costs big bucks. we have to think outside the box when it comes to signings so have to look further afield and bring in diamonds in the rough. some of them will turn out to be a lump of coal but some may just turn out to be cracking players. brentford did it for years, stan made an entire post about unheralded strikers signed by clubs that went on to be great players in the championship but that's where we are as a club unfortunately.

Not being argumentative but warnock signed loads of Fox types (Derry, Orr, Hill, Paddy, Hulse, Tommy Smith and chimbonda) and we won the league.
Fans nowadays seem obsessed with resale value; going up with a team of experienced players worth a whole lot more than signing a kid and selling him few seasons later.

Would never have done it without Taarabt though. However I agree Warnock got the blend of youth and experience spot on. But he was a very special manager who truly inspired his players. Not saying Marti can't do similar but they're totally different characters and styles.
