I feel like it's neither.
How would new owners bring someone in before owning us? Why would existing owners pay for it.
Likewise, why would they pay for someone new if they are leaving?
If anything, this shows that they are staying and Ruben knowing that changes are needed. Now his Dad has passed away, he has the funds to be all in on us.

I saw a post on Twitter a couple of days ago from an American journalist with a rumour predicting that Joe Mansueto owner of Chicago Fire and FC Lugano a super league club in Switzerland was set to invest in an English club.
Hes worth an estimated 6 billion dollars and could fit in with the background of the new CEO seemingly experienced with multi club ownership.

Normally you would see a takeover with a clean break, with a new team coming in at the same time. This is a drip, drip, slow motion process, with no anouncement.

One possibility is that the owners are walking away and the club will go into administration hence rumours of 10 point deductions earlier this week... That will cripple us for a decade if we ever come back. |
