The penalty saving specialist at it again. Not a bad day at the office if you ignore the 3 he conceded.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat. Not the way that MW wants the keeper to play. The worst part of his game by a country mile was his kicking and ball control.

Won't happen, but would be good. I think Lumley is a very good keeper. He's just overplaying. Not even sure it's totally his fault. The top few sides in the country have goalkeepers that are comfortable with the ball at their feet, now all of a sudden managers and goalies up and down the country at all levels are trying to do the same. Bit daft if you ask me, asking goalies in the 2nd or 3rd tier to play that way is always going to end in tears!

Those 3 he conceded were terrible although Cardiff did have a non-existent defence.
Was lucky to get away with the penalty too....miles off his line before the ball was kicked.

Not just Lumley though is it. Alison at Liverpool made a couple of gaff's last season. We just need to get the balance right. I like the fact we try and play, so much better than what it has been in seasons gone past but there is a time to play and a time to put it in behind and stretch the other side.

I have hold hand up and say I play the percentages so don’t mind my goalie launching it. All for playing football but let’s do it in oppositions half
If there is chance of losing it then don't mess get it forward, put pressure on them in there half and look for them to make the error not us. We have mobile forwards now who can press and if they beat that they hit second wall of Amos and Cameron

Smithies in a Rangers shirt was the best keeper since Paddy. Cannot put Lumley in either of their class. Done ok Lumley but do not see him as the answer longer term.

I think Lumley could be answer if he learns command box and kick.
If other clubs were looking at him, as were led to believe, he must be doing something right

I don't miss Smithies, probably because we were so poor and didn't appreciate him keeping our goal difference to double figures instead of treble.

Not for me Smithies much better for me than Green ever was for us. Only time Green looked ok was with Dunney commanding the back four.

Not much point in good distribution if other shortcomings mean you have to keep picking it out of the back of the net. The horse goes in front of the cart.

No short memory at all, just an opinion
Keeper who would keep you in game for 89mins then throw it away at the end with an error. One of worst keepers I’ve seen in the Bush

Rob Green had a lot more good games for us than he had bad games and they were more towards the end of his time with us. One of the better shot stoppers that we have had but no good with his feet. He was also one of the few in recent times that dominated his six yard box, something our current keepers could do a lot better IMO.

Flapped at cross after cross while with us and his performance in the play off final was of the standard you would expect from him. Man of the match was Richard Dunne though.

Sounds daft but I'd go back in for Smithies in January.
Didnt play a single PL game last season, started this season and now dropped again.
Kelly & Lumley not much apart in ability for me. Smithies would be invaluable in this side.

Surely cheaper than what we got for him. Will MW admit his possible mistake in buying Kelly though? Tough one for him.
