No need for rule changes, we just need better corners. but your giving credit for winning corners. Give credit for actual assists or goals. And he’s off another game where he’s created SFA. Just trying to find something positive.

Hard to take any positives from that, overall it wasn't a terrible performance but 3 defensive shit shows gifted Maja a hattrick. Completely toothless up front as usual. Varane and Lloyd look good, Andersen did ok, but other than that...

Rightly so. This is no way to start a season in front of your home fans.

No surprises at all going forward but surprised how bad the defence was

Their striker touched the ball three times and scored three times.
Ours looked like a spectator who had been called on to the pitch.

No surprises at all going forward but surprised how bad the defence was Yeah that was a shock for me. Paal was disgraceful, but Dunne letting Maja beat him so easily, and JCS, was criminal for me. Expected the toothlessness, Frey really is Donkey mk2. Just hope Celar settles quickly and doesn't become Donkey mk3.

I’m not surprised. Yards off it. 11 corners with fuck all to show for it. Pathetic defending. Saturdays are back!!

Fucking hell. Clueless.

Willing to give Celar the benefit of the doubt as it was his first game in English football.

toothless, set up wrong and poor across the pitch. for a team that's supposed to be playing possession based football we really struggled to keep possession.
at least varane looked decent.

Celar managed to replace Dykes perfectly - you could hardly notice the difference.

These last 10 minutes have been much better. Too little too late, I fear. Could have started with a totally different team, but hindsight is a great thing.

Got to say despite them having a very good side and lots of expensive players, that was fucking atrocious.
Not one player had a good game.
Defence completely gone to pot.
Despite us not shutting down crosses from the wing, who the fuck was leaving that forward to have free headers?!
Fucking terrible performance.
Only good thing that comes out of today is the fact that expectations will lower and the manager will have learned a lot about most of his players.

Also, at 1-3 down why take Celar (who had no service today) off and stay one up front?
Would have been better to put Frey on and let them work as a combo together. Nothing to lose.

oh well, i'm on the victoria malaga and i've got a Chicken jalfrezi, bombay aloo, mushroom bhaji, peshwari nan and lamb samosa making an apperance later along with a ticket of the man fron peru from the local leigh on sea hedgehog munchers.
Fackin' QPR will be the death of me. Really poor today. Barry the ballroon dancer from Hi de hi would have added more bite to the midfield and were more flaccid up front than Elton John in a deep south titty bar.

I feel pretty shit after that tbh. Everyone gets excited about Smyth and he definitely gives it a go but achieves nothing, Andersen lots of nice touches but too many mistakes. Celar watched from afar, no different to Dykes. Comes to something when Frey is our best option, at least he got involved. Varane might make a difference but we need a great season from Chair, greedy or not.

Paal was turd today, which is why I was mystified by the loan of Larkeche. I got taken to task for saying I thought Larkeche was better than Paal, by some bloke who came on here for three posts, calling himself qprcelona and promptly disappeared after he'd been condescending and patronising in his three posts.
Anyway as for today's game we looked a yard off the pace and way behind WBA in every way. I suppose they're probably one of the best teams we'll face so that's something. But Smyth has not improved and should only be an impact sub. Where was Santos? Celar was absolutely useless, he didn't even press. Fuck knows what's going on there but he better improve, and fast. Andersen was our best player I thought. But I am excited by Varane and Bennie, so there were some things to be positive about. Terrible defending for all their goals doesn't bode well, but two were essentially Paal's fault and the first one Smyth should have stopped the cross.
We will improve, of that I have no doubt, and I think Varane could be a key player in that. Bennie should start instead of Smyth, Lloyd looks better than Kolli, who was powder-puff in the tackle and showed very little to get excited about, apart from that delightful cross for Andersen to score. So he needs to man-up, and fast. But left back really worrries me.
