By all means change the odd player or rotate using subs as it is a squad game now but they ought to be able to play pretty much the ‘best’ team without wholesale changes. I think we only used 14/15 players when we finished runners up all those years ago. Ok, game was less intensive, but much rougher, and the players were tough rather than the top athletes they are now - so all things relative. I remember playing one Saturday then cup replay at Forest on the Tuesday and second replay there on Thursday. Car never cooled down. Played again Saturday I think. Train less if you have lots of games. When we were Champions? We used 32 players.

Assuming there are no fitness concerns, I would go with something like
Nardi Santos Cook Morrison Paal
Varane Dixon-Bonner
Saito (assuming no pre season?) Anderson Kolli
Celar
Basically, looking to rest Dembele, Madsen, Frey, JCS. Want Santos to have time playing at RB and need someone with experience next to him and Morrison. Give Nardi a bit more game time and give Varanne, Anderson and Kolli much needed minutes. Could start Colback instead of EDB.

Train less if you have lots of games. It was virtually a different sports then mate. They estimate the average player is running two to three times the amount they were in the 1970s, with lots more sprints. Be like trying to compare Alcaraz with tennis players who used wooden rackets and were out the night before on the piss snorting Charlie.

A bloke from made in Chelsea has just run 30 marathons in 30 days in the desert and he not a professional athlete it's about effectiveness though and players need resting and workload management to get the best out of them. players probably could play week in week out but their bodies would pick up niggles and aches which would hinder what they can do on the pitch. when they come up against a side that does take care of their players the difference in fitness will be night and day.

I prefer win today to Friday's. I’m opposite Tim win in league, first of season is needed get that duck off back. You know that every year you have a reason why the cup is not important that year. Now when we probably won't be in top or bottom six it's that we have to get our first win of the season. Can't wait what the reason is next time 😂

Not top or bottom so cup run would be nice. Take each game as it comes - new game Friday, win tonight does it give us confidence or make them more determined at their place?

It’s Luton, that should be enough to sanction a full top side to be put out to smash the cants

Only benefit of cup is financial if you get big draw or run But at least I’m consistent. Don’t get why comfortable prem clubs don’t take it seriously as they have chance of getting to the end. Just got bush and it’s dead no fans no plod would not even know there is a match on. I thought tonight would have pulled a decent crowd.

Interesting to see Morrison and Santos if they are any good. Disappointing to see Dixon-Bonner still with us.

Ticket sales and catering/merchandise sales aside, here are the magnificent rewards of the Caraboa Cup: First round winners: £5,000 Second round winners: £7,000 Third round winners: £10,000 Fourth round winners: £15,000 Quarter-finalists: £25,000 Semi-finalists: £25,000 Runner-up: £50,000 Winners: £100,000

Awful crowd and I include Luton’s following.
If this was reversed I think we would have sold out away end.
