Mention for Field. Was once a CB and plays it well. Better there than CM. Didn't miss JCS at all.

What will it take to put a decent ball in the box? Smyth is fucking infuriating. Twice he is free on the right, two defenders in the box, he stops, gives the left back a chance to recover and tries to take him on. Why?!!! By the time he's fucked around there's 5 defenders back in the box. Fucking pisses me off. If he just crossed the ball he would be an asset but he's actually holding us back. you know my view on him he’s useless. Why he do that beats man then stops to be caught up makes no sense. He’s arguably quickest man in our team and on pitch has the box ahead of him take it in commit a defender take him out the game and slip in attacker.

Just back. Enjoyed that in the main, although the sending off killed the game, because Sunderland parked the bus after that and we just didn't have the guile to break through. I now have faith that there is a player in Celar, Madsen actually showed up as well. Morgan and Varane were great until about 65 when they began to fade, I think Morgan was done - his first start and he's only 18, and I think Marti could have taken him off, but he never stopped trying. Defence was very solid and Nardi hardly had a save to make. Can't agree with Westy about Smyth though, I don't know what he's done to you mate, but I thought he was pretty good, especially first half.
Saito's cameo was a bit disappointing, I thought he'd be able to unpick their defence, but they were like a red and white striped wall. Clean sheet v the league leaders, third game unbeaten, these are the small steps that change a season. Well done everyone involved. Onwards and upwards!

Play Kiki LHS Chair RHS Kolli 9 between them
That's what should have happened after the card.
We have to sort out the shape on our ball, woeful atm.
Mackems thought we were decent but 'woeful up front'.

Just don’t rate him at all Hubs he offers next to nothing. Can’t knock his effort he has that in bundles but he does nothing else and he’s not going to improve so I don’t see the point in persisting with him.

I might be mad, but Varane reminded me at times today of Paul Ince........

I might be mad, but Varane reminded me at times today of Paul Ince........ I really think he could be pick of the bunch of new players. 23 years old and he’s played what 6 games? He was written off by some after 2. He’s getting better game by game. No coincidence that we are looking so much more solid with him in the side. If only some other players could get fit and stay fit! It’s a lot to rely on a young lad in such a crucial position in his first season in England

Hasn't impressed me thus far, but today he looked much better.
Fair play to him. Hopefully kicks on now.
As for Smyth, if he just put the ball in the box first time which he has the opportunity to do on so many occasions it makes his job so much easier and gives forward advancing players something to feed off.
His infatuation with doubling back is killing moves time after time.

Sometimes you can just tell a player has got something special about him, and I did say that about Varane on here from the first time I saw him play. I know others were very sceptical or even dismissive, but the lad is going to be some player. Alongside Morgan, we've got two very exciting young midfielders. Things don't look quite as bad as they did a few weeks back, do they?

I think it was a much worse challenger than Varane at Blackburn. This had real force

As i said
Dembele and Saito are luxury players
To come of the bench only when we need it
Fill the defence and midfield with
Dunne Cook Jcs Paal
Varane Madson Field Chair
Proper tough players for this league
The fluffers have to wait until we are losing

That's an excellent point; from villain then, to high praise today, it shows how these moments can prove pivotal in the drama of championship football... Varane's red seemed to stall our season, maybe todays performance symbolises our return to form. Maybe now we can dare to look up the table for a change.

He and the lot of them knew it as well tbf barely an argument against it .

If possible, next match I would like to see Alexander Aoraha on the pitch. He was on the bench today.

Someone probably mentioned this above. We must have had double digits of distance shots blazed high or wide. For heaven sakes. Get the bloody thing on frame. This isn't youth football.

Well I was directly in line on two occasions when he done it with Celar in the box and Morgan on the edge of the box unmarked. Piss poor.

Smyth 100% effort 0 result. Best he achieved today was getting pulled down on edge of box. It will not happen but we could do worse than getting someone in who can coach our attackers specifically.
