Wallace and the keeper may turn to be good signings but we have been linked to players who he has managed before and was sacked from. Surely our net flies further than his last 2 clubs 20 men squad.

Interesting thread. Predictable "hash tag hits" posts but also some more measured responses recognising the position we are in. I think yesterday's loans were fantastic business but clearly today's two transactions are more controversial (assuming LF has left the building)
I'm generally happy with the window so far but am a bit concerned that all the permanent signings are all ex Warbs players. Let's see which strikers we get in now.

Just watched Ball's interview. Didn't realise his favoured position is defensive midfielder. He looks like a pretty stocky guy, could be the physical presence we're looking for in the middle of the park. And age is on his side, being only 23, but that could mean him being slightly less experienced for that role. Thoughts?

Luke Amos and Matt Smith Jr are also primarily CDMs. So can't see how Ball has been brought in for that role. Yes he could fill in there or at RB, but he is primarily a CB.

Let's see which strikers we get in now. pretty much my thoughts. its still early days though and we're yet to spend a penny aside from the livingston managers weekly shop for liam kelly. maybe we're waiting on selling freeman until we splash some cash on a striker. if luongo goes then altogether we should have around 5m to spend i reckon

Surely we should be as excited about all these Rangers players as Rangers fans were when they signed Hill, Kranjcar and Barton....

.
A lot of people had youth form and then got overtaken. He's done nothing for two and a half years, that's the bottom line with this one. We'll see. But his wages might have been put to better use in the striker fund.

Warburton on Dominic Ball:
“I know Dom very well. I signed him as a young academy player many years ago. He did very well when he went to Spurs and he did very well for us at Glasgow Rangers. He knows how I like the game to be played and he is a really good character on and off the pitch. He will certainly add value to the dressing room.
Ball has played as a centre-back, right back and a defensive midfielder during his career. He can play in a variety of positions and I think it is important that we have a number of players who can offer us that flexibility in terms of their positioning.”

Dom Ball interview for Kilburn Times"I think as a team we're creating so many chances," he said. "On the ball we look slick, off the ball we're pressing with intensity so I think we're ready as a team. At this stage we want to take it game by game, we've got the players in the squad. We'll be pushing as a team and we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
We've shown in pre-season what we can do as a team. Individually there's a lot of good quality in there and as a team which we've shown against some tough opposition. The Championship is a hard league but I think we're ready for it. I think it will click for us and we'll start scoring goals."Despite also being used in defence in his career, Ball is enjoying being used in a midfield role for QPR so far. The former Tottenham youngster is also pleased with the team spirit he has seen in the squad both on and off the pitch. He added: "That's (midfield) where I've played for the last two years. I know some people may say I'm a defender but that's sort of my role in there as well, you could see me as a third defender helping the centre-halves out but also starting the play up, building the play on the ball. I obviously enjoy that position so hopefully I play there more.
You can see how hard everyone is working together on the pitch and it's a good laugh off the pitch. You need that good team spirit, with all the new players coming in everyone has bonded and it's been brilliant."www.kilburntimes.co.uk/sport/football/queens-park-rangers/dominic-ball-qpr-chances-championship-this-season-1-6199825

What a player.
Tough, great passing range, can boss a midfield and dictate play and does a lot of the shit work to allow others to play. Reminds me of Derry in our promotion season.
Brilliant acqusition by the gaffer. Loving this guy.

Completely agree, what a player. Imo a younger Shaun Derry. He's far exceeded any expectations I had of him.

I doubt Cameron expected competition for his spot.

I got so much time for Dom Ball. As few of you will know, from old board, I do like a hard working dogs of war player who digs in. My view is regardless of talent hard work is the very least we should expect from every player and this fella gives that and in fairness he’s not bad on the Ball either
There was time yesterday when they were breaking up the left Wells was chasing but ran out of gas and gave up, exact same time Ball went into another gear and shadowed player out to corner flag preventing cross
The guy took some pelters when signed, typical rangers fans judging player based on fact they had never heard of him. Glad he’s proving people wrong

Time for a recall?
Was absolutely bossing games then dropped for Scowen.
Now don't get me wrong I see the reasoning behind it. He's brought Scowen in to be that little terrier, winning tackles, doing the ugly stuff to free up Chair, Eze and co but I think Ball can do all that and more.
For me he's more composed on the ball, better passing range & still does the dirty work.
I'd have him in for Scowen against Brentford.
