he's stepped up this season tbh, maybe not enough for what we want but he has improved imo.
he does make the odd mistake but he brings that grit and quiet efficency that every team needs

In the meantime he's doing a steady enough job deputising for them. |

Agree that Dom Ball does a job that nobody else in the squad can in terms of doing the dirty work etc. Don't think he starts when Field and Amos are fit though.
Still think he's an important part of the squad though and somebody we should be hanging onto.

The fact that we've been shit in midfield for over two months and he's incessantly playing the likes of Hendrick/ Field/ Johanson over this guy and Thomas really makes Warburton look bad.

Worst part of this one is he never puts in a bad shift. He’s very consistent at being that spoiler all teams need yet the bread man has opted for a fucking statue from Newcastle who has brought absolutely nothing to the team.

I know a few on here don't rate him, and I understand why. Quite a limited player. But every team needs a spoiler or 2 in the squad. You can also never excuse Ball of not putting in a shift. Should be playing for me.
That Tweet is a little unprofessional though. Only doing that cos he knows the Manager is for the chop and he wants a chance to win a new deal.

always liked dom's effort but he is a very limited player, if i had to choose between him and field it'd be field every day.

Never complained about him myself Doc. Hard to believe I know, cos I complain about everything else! 🤣
I have no issues with a workmanlike midfielder who puts a shift and does the ugly stuff. The problem we have is we've got too many of those and not enough genuine playmakers. Only really Johansen and Dozzell that can play that number 8 playmaker role. And to be fair, I don't think Dozzell is even good enough at this level for that job!

I got so much time for Dom Ball. As few of you will know, from old board, I do like a hard working dogs of war player who digs in. My view is regardless of talent hard work is the very least we should expect from every player and this fella gives that and in fairness he’s not bad on the Ball either There was time yesterday when they were breaking up the left Wells was chasing but ran out of gas and gave up, exact same time Ball went into another gear and shadowed player out to corner flag preventing cross The guy took some pelters when signed, typical rangers fans judging player based on fact they had never heard of him. He was liked to start with when we played 4132 and he was the one. Only when we settled on 3 at the back did we find he couldn’t cope in midfield and started making lots of mistakes. But a good honest player who’d put a lot more effort in than most. |
