Time for a recall? Was absolutely bossing games then dropped for Scowen. Now don't get me wrong I see the reasoning behind it. He's brought Scowen in to be that little terrier, winning tackles, doing the ugly stuff to free up Chair, Eze and co but I think Ball can do all that and more. For me he's more composed on the ball, better passing range & still does the dirty work. I'd have him in for Scowen against Brentford. Agree Jim. Nothing against Scowen but Ball, Cameron and Amos are our three best CDMs IMO. |

IMO Scowen has had two good games in a row now and dropping him is a retrograde step. Amos was very poor last night, he had no idea how to deal with their midfield and I would bet his pass completion rate was very low when he came on.

This is a fair and valid point but this is where management gets tough and tough decisions need making. Has Scowen played well? Yes Does he deserve to be dropped? No If a potentially better option is available to help the team should we use it? Yes Only my opinion of course but some could say Ball didn't deserve to be dropped either. In fairness these lads are not the problem. It's the lack of pace at the back and lapses in concentration every week that's costing us. |

Agree Jim. Nothing against Scowen but Ball, Cameron and Amos are our three best CDMs IMO. Personally I'd say Ball, Cameron and Scowen are comfortably our 3 best CDM's. Possibly in that order too. |

Thought Scowen was Scowen, on the pitch but invisible. Think Cameron has been poor too.
I would go Amos and Ball as partnership ahead of Scowen and Cameron

Ball with a creativw midfielder who can get about the pitch would give us a nice balance in the midfield. Big fan of his and appreciate the work he puts in for the team.

Dom Ball puts in plenty of effort and never hides but does tend to give the ball away in dangerous areas whilst trying to complete a straightforward 5 or 10 yard pass..same as Cameron.
Both try to get about the pitch but both lack pace and good distribution...not an ideal pairing IMO.
The injury to Amos may create an opportunity for Battache to sit deep alongside Ball.

Needs games and probably would have got them if MW hadn't painted himself into a corner by making Cameron captain. Doesn't mean he can't be left out but makes it a much bigger decision if you have backed him as your leader on the pitch.

Now Bettache has signed a new contract, I think we'll see more of him. I wonder if him not playing was us saying we wont put you in the shop window to leave for nothing, sign and play or dont and drop down the divisions?
