So I think everyone pretty much agrees that if you can identify leader material, you might as well give them the job - irrespective of whether you think the captain's role is irrelevant or coming back into fashion.
The question then is, do we have leader material anywhere in the squad? Clint was probably the last half decent one we had.

should have been captain at the start of the season imo. i dont get why MAGA got it other than he's experienced. ball had a magnificent first season with us when you take into account that every one of us expected him to be a squad player.
he's one of the only players we have that actually leads on the pitch, plays his socks off for us and gives it his all. 100% shoulx be our captain

gives a great interview thats for sure. seems like a proper leader too, professional and passionate about the side which are some of the main qualities you want in a captain. 100% he should be vice captain at the very least, not barbet |

After watching Rob Dickie post match interview on sky where he was presented with the MOM award I’m afraid I’m going to be a flip flopper/cheat and change my vote.
Sorry to disagree James 1979 but Dom Ball needs to be first name on the team sheet just like Rob Dickie is in MW eyes before he earns the armband.

Not much left in the legs but still does a great job as captain and organising the troops at the back. Shouts for next Captain? Chaz for me if he's sticking around. |

Cameron was a solid and dependable player for us who had more good games than bad. legs had gone but he still had a few MOTM games with us.
nothing bad to say about good ol MAGA geoff aside from him being an odd choice as captain.
as for next captain its gotta be chaz or dickie for me.

I've criticised Cameron a lot but to be fair to him at least he put the effort in when he put on the shirt.
Interested to see who gets the captaincy. Wallace is a decent shout but I've got a feeling Barbet may get it.

Wallace is a decent shout but I've got a feeling Barbet may get it. i think it'll be barbet too tbh and i don't have many qualms with that. been a model pro in his 2 years with us and was the only outfield player to play every minute last season. i thought he was excellent for us last season too but he goes under the radar for some reason. otherwise who else is there? wallace and dickie are decent shouts, and stefan too if he comes in but personally i like having a captain thats been at the club for a couple of years at least. |
