The world is full of scum. They are a minority of society but unfortunately their actions get noticed more because cunts stick out more than the rest of us.

Call them out on it whenever you encounter it, whether it be on social media or at games. I'd rather we were playing in front of 8k of true loyal fans than have to put up with the internet cowards or the beer/ coke fuelled cunts at games. You won't be popular and you will be spending a lot of time arguing but we mustn't let the utter cunts undermine the club or the team, especially as we seem to have finally got a plan in place to make sure that future generations will have an opportunity to watch Queens Park Rangers too.

On the train back to Surrey after the game this Saturday I was sat with a couple of old boy Brentford fans. Just normal fans I think, not hoolies. A couple of very young beered/coked up Crawley fans got on and were effing and blinding. Kids all around, so it was a bit out of order. Fair play to this old Brentford fan. He went up to them on his way off the train at Ewell and gave these 2 lads a piece of his mind. One of the Crawley fans called him an old cunt, and this Brentford fan pinged him right on the nose. Asked him off the train to sort things out properly and this young Crawley fan melted. Whilst its not nice seeing agro like that. Not a person on that train carriage didn't think those young lads deserved it!

Dealt with it old school Tarbie just how it should be.
Bet none of these giving pelters on twitter would approach Scowen or his dad after a game face to face and share their views
Esox is right prat’s like this need confronting so might seek him out on twitter later

As soon as he stepped over the fence it was all "Yeah, here you go" and "it's just banter". It's just banter is probably one of my most hated phrases, it is mostly used right after someone has been called on their personal, and to some extent bullying, comments at someone. As you rightly alluded to, most are complete melts when faced up to.

Can't see why people have twitter accounts. It is full of life's rejects trying to get some attention. People that wouldn't say boo normally hiding behind anonymity.

Basic rule: If you wouldn't say it to someones face then don't say it at all.

Unfortunately it is the dark side of social media and one of the reasons I would never use twitter or any of the other sites. Cannot condone or even understand why you would dig someone out in that way.

Never seen anyone go from being so cocky to being red in the face and quiet as a mouse. His face when this old man and his pals were offering him off the train, he wanted none of it! The old boy looked like a school teacher to be fair. Wearing a Brentford polo, shorts and trainers with white socks! The kid literally did not know what hit him! 😂

I think percentage that are keyboard warriors or trolls is actually quiet small. They just make a lot more noise so get noticed more!

No one disputes you using it my point was that it gives idiots the platform to behave like they have in this instance.

I'm no fan of social media. It was inevitable from the start that any benefits would be eclipsed by nobheads and banality, and there is no way personal abuse should be tolerated - but when debating Scowen The PLAYER let's not rewrite history here. Its nothing to do with the role(s) Warburton has given him. Comments on him as a PLAYER, positive or negative, are the same now as when he played for Holloway and Schteve.

And before anyone picks me up that this is social media....this is fun and specific. I'm not posting what I had for breakfast or pictures telling the world I'm on holiday - who gives a fuck.

I'd have moved all three amigos on. Didn't work under Hollo, ditto under Schteeve - as was debated on here and another place many times. So much for beating off prem offers to sign him.

do we know these are genuine fans of the clubs or our they opposing fans masquerading as supporters? I ask because you've got to be brain dead abusing players of the standard of Rashford because he missed a pen

Think he got a lot of twitter abuse from us about his dad and didn't feel like celebrating in front of people who don't want him here.

What about his dad ? yeah, what about his dad? seriously pro sports people need to stay well away from twitter, horrible hall of mirrors and completely irrelevant. A tiny minority of the total crowd would have had a go on Twitter but because its social media the lad thinks the world is on his back. That's how out of proportion it gets.

Hal , whats happenned ? what did his dad do ? Can't recall the specifics now Vesps....it happened several months ago. But it was distressing enough for him to come off Twitter at the time. Agree with every word Hal says above. Footballers should stay well clear of it as it has the illusion of being proportionate to the fanbase's overall views, when it's anything but. However I totally empathise with his decision not to celebrate. Every club has its share of idiots and we're no different, but maybe ignorance to it can be bliss sometimes. Footballers get very well paid and perhaps dealing with this ugly aspect of the job is part of the reason for that, as psychologically it must be challenging to deal with, the financial rewards aside.

Agree with you Stan and there is also another factor, not suggesting it particularly applies to Scowen. A lot of players come across as pretty thick when they are interviewed. Maybe clubs should be continuing their education about life not just keeping them fit to play. Perhaps they do?

Basically everytime he has had game fans were tweeting him direct, and other players, saying they’re shit.
He came off twitter to avoid but his dad then decided to call out fans when they tweeted he was shit, which is fair enough. So you kind of have this pantomime act where fans slate him and his dad hits back
If we’re honest he’s served his time at club and prob right for him that he moves on and gets fresh start end of season.

No big fan of Scowen but have to say I was pleased for him yesterday. Thought he had a decent game aside from scoring.
