Not for me Esox or not at least when he was in goal for us. Looked clumsy but has done well elsewhere

From our keepers over the last decade, personally I'd put Green in 4th place behind Kenny, Smithies and Cerny. Paddy for me was the unluckiest of all of Warnock's team of 10/11 to be bombed out by that wanker Hughes as the 2 replacements were not better than him. Best keeper for me since big Jan in the mid 90's. Smithies was very good in a poor team and agree Cerny was underated.

Yes, having Kenny and Cerny in our 2010/11 promotion squad was significant. Further kudos to NW for that. Our back up keeper that year was better than any of our current crop, other than Dieng possibly who we're hearing rave reports about.

Hugely over-rated keeper. I thought he was awful for us!

Not a big fan of Green but would certainly have him ahead of Cerny.
Paddy, Smithies then Green for me.
What about that pudgy Brazilian imposter who used to arrive by helicopter to training?

Very good today from Kelly and lets see him get a run now which benefits our starting 11 plus Lumley who can watch on and work on his game to get a bit of confidence.

He really does have to leave.
Literally costs us a goal a game. I will say the defending on both goals was shocking but he didn’t help matters at all the first one through his weak hands, second one slow to react to a simple shot from a square pass.

I feel for him as he clearly is limited in what he can do and ball playing at the back really shows up him and sends him down the falling apart route.

“If we take in our hand any goalkeeper of football at championship level, for instance; let us ask, Does he contain any abstract reasoning concerning quantity or number, which enables him to keep a clean sheet? No. Does he contain any experimental reasoning concerning matter of fact and existence, that gives him a better chance of cathcing the ball? No. Commit him then to the flames: for he can contain nothing but sophistry and illusion.”

don't think getting rid is the answer. a loan would be best to get him some time away from the club to find his confidence and composure again but thats off the cards for sure.
i still believe that there is a good goalkeeper in there, i don't believe for a second that this is the finished article. but i do agree that he has been abysmal this season, i don't know why he has. we have to stick by our players though, he is still young for a keeper.

Was lucky not to cost us a goal tonight, even though some think he should have saved the first one. I am not so sure about that, but he makes so many errors now that he looks like a deer in headlights. Feel sorry for him, but needs to warm the bench for the foreseeable future, or go out on loan (swap with Dieng maybe)

Pretty close to what I've been saying Corbs. Gotta take him out of the spotlight now though. These errors are creeping into his game more and more. The answer is to loan a keeper in and loan Lumley out to see if he finds his feet again. I will add that it pissed me off immensely seeing him grinning ear to ear shaking hands with the Wednesday players last night at the end of the game. Maybe I'm being overly critical, but I don't want to see my keeper looking so happy after another game where his errors have cost us. He should be pissed off with himself and sorry for letting his team mates and the fans down.

That first goal came about from a piss poor header from Manning that the useless Kane not doing the basics right and switching off from the throw. Yes Lumley should have saved it but the basics done right results in no shot at goal.

Yes Lumley should have saved it but the basics done right results in no shot at goal. Don't disagree with that mate. Poor from Manning in the build up to the throw and poor from 3 of our players to let their player waltz through and score, although for sure Kane was the biggest culprit. Should have been his man. All that being said, you telling me when Lumley watches that back he won't be disappointed with himself? If he's not then he shouldn't be playing in goal at this level. He should save it. Ok it's from close range, but it was straight at him. Howler in the 2nd half was far worse but Masterson got him out of jail. It's a shame because those 2 moments aside it was actually a very solid performance from Lumley. But when you are a keeper, 2 mistakes in 90 minutes is too many.

Was behind the goal and no doubthe should save it. Said to a pal before the game we will destroy lumley if we carry on picking him. Every mistake costs us a goal and leads to him being cained. Hugill and Kane's missed chances were as bad as the mistake that Lumley made. We know Lumley is poor but lets not destroy him.

Fans that abuse players directly, whether that be from the terraces or on Twitter are morons. I will be honest on here or to my mates at the pub before a game though. He's simply not been close to good enough this season so far. Hugill was very also poor last night. In fact very few of our players offered much. Just a poor team performance all round.

The boy is shot and needs taking out or he will be. Hugill woeful in the air and even worse with his feet. I was behind the goal and can tell you his finish cost us a goal in the same way lumley has.

That Hugill chance I think if it goes in the flag goes up as he looked offside. But still should finish and worry about Lino after

My twopence worth on Lumley. I know you say corbs he’s young for a keeper but some players unfortunately are just error prone and they never grow out of it and I fear Lumley maybe one of those players
Rob Green, Mustafi at Arsenal, Phil Jones United and etc you just expect them to make errors and cost you goals and they never let you down. Yes they have good games but more often then not they leave you with head in hands
Lumley is in this league, can be great but overall not reliable. And if we’re honest he’s been making errors since his debut costing us goals, what we’re seeing this season is not a one off it’s just now happening more regularly

If our defence was doing it’s job, we wouldn’t be conceding so many goals. Lumley is a part of our defence, the last line, but the blame lies squarely on those in front of him for allowing those situations to occur so frequently. He can’t rely on them and they can’t rely on him.

he has been abysmal this season The bottom line and cold harsh reality. But why oh why does he keep getting picked? Asking exact same question about Manning in match thread, who keeps getting picked but is shit every time. And all the more frustrating and incomprehensible when we have ready made BETTER replacements in both positions just sitting on their arses warming the farking bench.
