Stats Loftus Road Stats Capacity 18,439 Average Attendance 17,295 Record Attendance 35,353 (QPR v Leeds United (1974)) Pitch Size 102 x 66 (6732) how the fuck did we squeeze 35 thousand into loftus road? I was there at the same fixture at the end of the 75/76 season and I am pretty sure there were over 32k there that day. I was in the Loft end and I remember there being two massive Leeds fans behind me with scarves clearly showing. Nothing changes eh!

The old Loft and school ends were bigger and all terrace ? i seem to remember playing Spurs in the mid 80s ,winter and everyone else was cancelled with frozen pitches, so everyone and his dog showed up , and we had about 27000 in there that day ,a barrier gave way in the Loft too !

I know Stan has put this in a different thread below, but I'm concerned it might be missed there. I think redeveloping LCS is our best and most viable opportunity of keeping QPR in W12 and getting a great new stadium. Hammersmith and Fulham are asking people to comment in a questionnaire, so please put fill it in. We've got to make this happen, as the alternative, which doesn't bear thinking about IMO, would be moving somewhere else completely, destroying the heart and soul of the club as we know it. I am in favour of relocating to Croydon but I couldn't find it as an option

is there opportunities for more transport links? White City a fair slap, likewise East Acton and too small. If we are to move there, I'd like a station by the ground, preferably on the Central Line so it doesn't interfere with my pre-match swelly

I'm a bit confused with all this.
Has the club and the council's wrangling ended and is this a joint consultation?
If so, what is the clubs preferred option?

Might be worth highlighting this topic on its own Stan , considering how important the outcome is for all Rangers fans

Done. What I like most was this part of Hoos' article:- “In addition, we also want to make clear that any associated property development, such as the 600 homes, including 40 per cent affordable homes, we are currently developing with Notting Hill Genesis at Oaklands, is solely to help the club fund a new stadium project, not to generate profits elsewhere". Back on that other site I remember so many people having a meltdown that Tony was only using us as a vehicle to line his own pockets.I aired the opinion that the whole purpose of that development was to fund the Club going forward and I got dog's abuse for being so naive. No names, no pack drill but the scorn from a certain "former pro and Mastermind Champion" on that board was comedy gold

I hope we pull this off. Still close to home and close to any eventual OOC development and transport links that will bring

Isn't being a tenant worse than owning your own stadium? What would happen to the millions generated from developing Loftus Rd?

Always with the NIMBYS. Those twats in Ealing delayed the new training ground for years and we're providing the community there with loads of pitches and facilities, the fucking idiots.

From their site: Why is the Linford Christie stadium an attractive option? The Linford Christie site is, in our view, attractive for a number or reasons: 1. It is less than ten minutes walk from Loftus Road 2. It is within the same postcode and borough (LBHF) 3. It has good public transport links, the same or similar ones that we use right now 4. The strong community links maintained by the club need not change 5. From a fan perspective our regular routines, pubs, restaurants need not drastically be altered 6. There is enough space for QPR matchday, community and commercial operations to continue on an expanded footing. Will new stadium be built on protected Wormwood Scrubs land? The initial plans for the new stadium encompass land that is already developed, e.g. the athletics track and other sports pitches. It is not envisaged that the green space of Wormwood Scrubs will be encroached upon in any way. How will new stadium and facilities benefit the local community? The precise answer to this lies in precise plans which are yet to be created. One key aspect is the QPR In the Community Trust, which has such a proud tradition of helping people throughout the borough and beyond. A new stadium will provide the Trust with an enhanced base and much greater space in which to run and expand its programmes. Also, it is foreseen that the sporting facilities, athletics track and training pitches will be available for the wider community to use. More here: www.stayinw12.co.uk/faqs

I totally agree with Bradley Allen in the article below. It’s not essential. I know LR isn’t ideal, I know Ellerslie Rd is a nightmare for food, drink & toilets at HT but I think with our current regime and current recruitment strategy we will continue to get what we’ve always had, average crowds of 12-13,000 I don’t see where this extra 10,000 fans will come from. Let’s get our house in order first. Always like listening to Bradley Allen on the radio. Has a really good way of describing the game when live and I’d like to think with his family history of QPR fans it’s genuine and not just a sound bite. www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/former-qpr-striker-condemns-nonsensical-pursuit-of-new-stadium#.XLlwgxGV6fY.facebook

Could not disagree more with him Jimmy. Slaps of a man giving an opinion who has no idea what the facilities/experience is like in the stands as he’s always in the pampered section
I have not spent one penny on a matchday at QPR (pre season games aside) in almost 20years as you can’t get to the kiosks and I imagine there are plenty others like me who can’t be arsed with the chaos behind the stands. That’s serious money being missed out on
Let’s have it straight, LR might have been adequate 20years ago but it’s currently not fit for purpose and times move on. We laugh at Griffin park but it’s on a par with us and Brentford have decided to move.
Brentford aside it’s worst ground in the division and there are clubs in divisions below us with better grounds and facilities
I love her and I will miss her when she’s gone but we’re being left behind. If we want to standstill, at best, then let’s stay and let the place crumble around us but if we have any ambition then we need move

And it wouldn't take too many brain cells to sort out-or at least greatly improve - the back of Ellerslie. Get rid of all the kiosks and TV, move them to the sides of the entrance/exit areas and extend the toilets. Not perfect but cheap and workable.

And just listened his interview on podcast what a total baffon
Says one thing then contradicts it next sentence. Says should not move then says we need find way of making more money. Talks about clubs who went up right way his example was stoke who were in new ground
Sounds bit of a fool having listened to that

I totally agree with him. It’s not essential. Problem is the club is losing money hand over fist and the only way to arrest that is to move to a stadium that can help make the club sustainable. So it's not just that LR isn't fit for purpose on matchdays, it's that it's actually an enourmous cash drain just to stay there, which is being subsidised to the tune of millions per year by the owners just to stay afloat. So at least by moving, the club wouldn't be totally dependent on them, which has to be a healthier situation.

Hq, as much as I adore it is outdated and a massive drain on the coffers. It can’t be used for anything other than football 23 times in 9 months. For the club to survive and dare i say it actually turn over some proper money we have to move. End of. It’s got nothing to do with attendances we won’t fill it etc etc, it’s what that building can generate in the way of profit for the club on non match days. Without ffp we could get away with it easier but being a central London club means massive outlays and lr just doesn’t cut the mustard anymore. It’s shit but it is reality
