Only the chapters covering QPR and his departure. Beyond that 🤷🏻♂️ Didn't he tweet a lot of stuff after leaving? Should make an interesting read

Way I see it, as good as Kenny was you don't go football games to watch goalkeepers....It's the Taarabts that get you on the edge of your seat Agreed. But you do not win leagues without a good keeper and we won the league that season so would argue that was just as important. 24 games out of 46 where the other team did not scores gives the team a great plarform to then entertain and do their stuff and no one did it better than Taraabt that season.

Superb defensive unit that year, especially in the first half of the season. Don't think all credit can go just to Kenny for that.

Good lad, Paddy. Certainly brought some Vodka and Charlie to the party that season.

With hindsight, selling Kenny and bringing in Green and Julio Cesar probably ranks among the biggest mistakes made by the club in recent years. God knows how much those 2 useless fuckers cost us in wages!

We had a better back four under Redknapp but was not as good in the keeper department. Schmiechel at United, Alisson at Liverpool, Southall at Everton all have or had a good back four but ultimately they made the difference to winning or losing trophies.

There is also the school of thought that AT presented such a danger to other teams that they didn't put as much pressure on our defence as they would on other teams. That night the gobshite Robbie Savage ran to the cameras mouthing off about how he had Adel in his pocket all night a prime example. Yep, him and the two defenders who went either side of him every time the ball went to Adel and one or two occasions where a fourth joined in. I am certain it would have been a lot less clean sheets and definitely no promotion without Adel in the side.

That same game Paddy made a one on one save worldy to preserve a point.

Definitely did his job when required in the promotion season but after that, my abiding memory was him with both feet planted one arm slightly outstretched and looking towards wherever the ball was heading into the back of the net. Even the fans behind the goal were getting fed up with it with the FFS muttering etc. I don't know what happened to him during that close season but he never seemed to pull off the spectacular saves after the promotion season.

Van Persie clean through v Arsenal at home in the 2-1 win was not a bad save.

Fair shout Esox, but were either of Green or Cesar any better? Cesar couldn't even catch a cross and Green was dropping at least 1 clanger every match.
What we ended up with was trading 1 slightly out of form keeper for 2 hugely over rated keepers at an additional speed of around 100 grand a week!

Green, Cesar and Lumley spring to mind.

Great Value?

Rob Green had that purple patch that got the fans singing "England's No.1" and he was superb in the play off final but overall, was not as good as the money we paid out for him. César was loved by the fans to begin with but when the mood changed he was felt to be part of the problem, along with many worse than him I might add, and the general air of hostility towards the club at that time. Don't forget too, that we had Alex McCarthy and he looked terrible when he played for us. The team was being ripped apart internally during those years and thanks to the appointments of Hoos & Ferdinand we are seeing something a little better than the greenshoots of recovery and a return to a "proper" QPR team.

Question when is he going to come back to us and repay what he owes the fans and the club.
One season should do it obviously at a very reduced wage with a bonus when we are promoted as i still think he could pull the championship apart.

Very good interview and thought he came across really well. Clearly loved the 10/11 season and squad better than the PL Frrnandes era. Fair play to him and all the best at Benfica.

Clear to see he loved the pre Fernandes era more both in team mates and ownership. He even said good thing on Paladini and Flavio. Gave an insight into how ludicros an aim Fernandes had for the following year with a top ten finish.

Is Taarabt still too good?...He's successfully reinvented himself at Benfica as a DM. Interesting article about it here: www.theguardian.com/football/2020/feb/08/return-of-adel-taarabt-reinvented-himself-at-benfica-qprNot exactly past it at 31 and many saying this is the position we're still lacking in. Would it really be such a crazy idea? He clearly still holds great affection and connections with fans and the club. Wages and his contract would be the issue naturally. Either way, good to see he's finally grown up a bit.
