No. Come on lads, it would be embarassing for all concerned and you know there's zero chance of it happenening anyway. Clickbait question Tarbs! Zero, agreed, but only because we don’t have anyone in charge with the vision to see it could be a masterstroke. Worth the risk the state were in.

A masterstroke, Al, seriously? Come on! He would waddle around for a few games, make the odd mazy run, spray a few decent passes and then retire injured to the local kebab shop.

Pay as you play then? I did say if fit and grown up. This club needs something to get us all up for it. He’d fit the bill. I’m just fed up that we’re all so gloomy (rightly) about the new season.

Serious question, would you have Adel back for a swansong? Yes. For the simple reason that things could not be / get any worse!!

Class is permanent just as long as he’s fit enough and has grown up. Nine other players to chase everything, there’s room for a cultured player and we’re not going to afford someone in their prime. Bums on seats too. At 34 if he still hasn't grown up, will he ever? 😂

Hubs, is it that far fetched?
Like I say, I believe he is likely to be available on a free this summer. We are broke and devoid of any real playmakers in the squad. We also know Adel likes living in London and played the best football of his career in a QPR shirt.
Of course, this is all speculation and message board chat, but I honestly think if we made a move Adel would be receptive to it.
I'm gonna backtrack from what I've said previously about not wanting to see Adel in a QPR shirt again. I actually think it would have potential (and I stress potential) to be a masterstroke as Al said above.

Obviously he still has skills that no one at LR can begin to approach.
That makes him redundant to Garethball.
Also we have to get over our exes, at QPR we keep going back and it works once in a blue moon.

Hal, Adel has shifted into more of deep lying playmaker role in recent years. Sits in front of the back 4 and sprays balls about. Might actually work OK with a couple of workhorses next to him and pace on the wings.

this time last season, no. but as tarbs and others have pointed out he would fit our style under gaz and also bring some flashes of class.
he's certainly matured and has even managed to rebuild his career since leaving us. champions league experience, cups etc so you know he has a winning mentality that could even benefit the dressing room.
all of this is assuming he's not just chasing the bag though lol.

Guys, seriously, I can't believe you're even entertaining the idea. It's not going to happen!!

Probably not even on the club's radar Hubs. As such, you're likely correct that it won't happen. Doesn't mean we can't speculate or opine on the subject on a message board though, does it?

Not for me. Never works out when we go back for old players.

Not for me. Never works out when we go back for old players. Kevin Gallen worked out 2nd time around. Gavin Peacock had a couple of good stints here (even if he drove me mental passing the ball backwards and sideways by the end of his 2nd stint). Also Clive Allen, Marcus Bignot, Lee Cook (maybe debatable that one), and didn't Ray Wilkins briefly leave and come back?

Not sure how a ball player (whose energy levels and effort are questionable) fits the style of in your face get it forward quick manager. Could absolutely of seen Him fit into a Warburton or Beale team but not Gareth’s the way we assume we will set up. Plus don’t think we have the characters to accommodate him we seen last two seasons how fragile we are in that space. Shame as in different circumstances could work.

In fact the guy who was responsible for that happening was who I wanted here as manager ( Bruno Lage ) - this was like two and a half years ago, before BL came to blighty. But Adel still wouldn't fit the Gareth model.
