I hope for a goalkeeper rumour on here now. Has anyone seen enough of Barnes to say why he hasn't been given a chance? No, but they didn`t rate him highly at his last club. Anyway, he is a work in progress, Warburton commented a while ago, I seem to remember.. |

Has anyone seen enough of Barnes to say why he hasn't been given a chance? a few Colchester fans described it as one of the best pieces of transfer business they've ever seen on a fans forum I checked when we signed him. Given we paid a very small nominal fee for him that probably tells you all you need to know. š

I can tell you the standard 10 years ago at col utd was awful,my boy had trial there orient spurs and southend and fir keepers they was by far the worse. My mates sons were wanted by west ham ( his team) and by qpr. He trained with both and said for keepers qpr well ahead.

Dom Ball rated one same bracket as Barnes when he signed. Can he be any worse? Kelly is fit now Fair shout on Ball, but I'll dig out the links to the forum I read at some stage. Some of the stuff these Colchester fans were saying about Barnes was horrific. I can only assume that the manager thinks he has the attributes to be developed into a good keeper cos these Colchester fans were all in agreement that his performances were awful at League 2 level. the general tone was amazement that a Championship club want not only want him, but be prepared to pay for him. Kelly is the only answer for the next game. From there the only other keeper in the squad close to being good enough is Deing. I haven't watched any of his highlights at Doncaster this season, but I saw a few of his games up in Scotland and he looked half decent. I'd say a far better bet than recalling Dieng however would be to try and get Smithies back on loan! |

Read that he and bright had knocked back contracts but both are expected to sign up and that itās being negotiated. We have options on both till 2021 anyway. Personally Iām not overly fussed about manning if weāre gonna play him at left back because he isnāt one |

WLS were reporting that he rejected a new deal but the club are expecting him to eventually re-sign. we have the option for triggering an extension until 2021 anyway so its no problem for us and means there's no chance of losing him on a cheap or a free.
i rate manning highly but would take 5m for him in a heartbeat.

No loss at all if he was flogged and if he wonāt sign contract get shot now while there is value Corbs not sure what you see in him if honest really poor player and will be found out in higher level if he ends up there |
