Ball playing central defender. Would certainly fit the bill in terms of priorities this window.

No way are we spending £4m Dunno mate. Apparently we were prepared to pay a few million quid for Scott McKenna in the summer if we could have got him. I think there is a little bit of money there if a player becomes available that a.) The board thinks is a good investment, b.) Fits into the wage structure and c.) Will improve the first team. If there are 1 or 2 on their way out in January (and personally I think their might be), it wouldn't surprise me to see us spend a few quid on some young players with potential. To be fair though, 4m quid for this lad sounds a bit lumpy. Looks a good prospect but I'd doubt we'd pay as much as that in 1 go. Maybe add-ons, sell on % etc and a smaller fee.

carter-vickers is a solid player at this level. he was really highly rated at spurs and was thought to have a bright future there but hasn't kicked on for some reason.
still, i think he has a lot of potential and would be a good signing. pacey player, good with the ball and he can play either right or left back too so can cover. would defo fit into our style and give us much needed pace at the back

Kind of player we should be signing. We get a few good years out of him and then sell for a nice profit.

Preferably I want us to buy a CB who has done it at this level. We have gambled enough now.

Spurs just recalled Jack Clarke and Cameron Carter-Vickers. Makeweights in a deal for Eze perhaps?

Stoke fans don’t seem to rate him. But then again, not sure they are the best judge of a good footballer

Makeweights in a deal for Eze perhaps? this could be interesting call Tarbs Where was he recalled from Carter-Vickers from Stoke, Clarke from Leeds. Carter-Vickers is a long way from ready for Premier League football, so you'd assume he's being sold. Clarke is probably a little closer, but I still can't see him getting the nod ahead of Spurs current selection of attacking midfielders. This is speculation by the way. Been trying to have a sniff around today to see if there is any substance to my suspicions but I'd be lying if I said this was anything more than an educated guess!

Must admit i thought the same when they were recalled.2+2 = Can't see them selling Clarke. Think they rate him as one that might make it at the top level from what I've read today. Eze going 1 way Carter-Vickers coming the other plus a few quid and Clarke on loan? I'm reaching a bit but I could see it. Clarke could basically straight swap for Eze in the squad. Push Chair or Pugh into the middle and play Clarke out wide.

Suppose they could rate Eze more and think long term he’s better value and prospect

Suppose they could rate Eze more and think long term he’s better value and prospect Well Spurs need to replace Eriksen Westy. He ain't signing a new deal, think Jose only wants to play 1 out of him and Dele Alli most weeks. He'll either get shifted this window or he'll run his contract down and go in the summer. He won't want to be Dele Alli's back up at this stage of his career. Said it before, but I honestly think from what I've seen this season Eze's ideal for that job! But like I said above. Considering what Spurs paid for Clarke and how highly they seem to rate him doubt he's going anywhere on a permanent move.

Spurs were in for Grielish start of season. They could still go for him as villa appear in the shit again and levy would screw them, would be type of deal he likes to do

Here's a question for you Westy. Would you take Grealish at the 35m Villa want for him or Eze at maybe 10m plus Amos, Cameron-Vickers and Clarke on a 6 month loan?
Hope I'm wrong, but I know what I'd do if I was Daniel Levy!

On twitter, we are rumoured to be after a Glascow Rangers midfielder. Greg Docherty played for Shrewbury last season where he seems to have impressed.

MW seems to have a blind spot over ex Rangers players doesn't he? Also, I watched Mckenna in a few games for Scotland and I think Hall & Barbet are both better footballers and Leistner a better defender.

Is McKenna ex-Rangers? Thought he'd come through the ranks at Aberdeen. Either way, I know the Celtic fans on the whole were saying he wasn't worth the money when they were linked with a move for him a while back. I keep an eye on the Scottish league a little cos of my Glaswegian roots, but can't say I've seen enough of McKenna to form a proper opinion. Seems we were priced out the move anyway. He'll probably hang around at Aberdeen until his contract runs down a bit and they stop asking silly money for him!

I was pertaining to his fascination with Scottish players.

Yeah, he seems to like to stick to what he knows mate. Players he's worked with before or seen play first hand a good few times. Or alternatively players that have come through the Les/Ramsey Spurs connection.
Personally I have no issue with that. Its proving to be a better transfer policy than every Manager we've had since Warnock in my opinion.
Not convinced on a few he's brought in yet, but I think on the whole we've done excellent in the transfer market under Warburton.
