Feel sometimes that willock and chair both play in a 10 roll and get in eachothers way . As said stop the constant cutting back with the ball . Drive forward and take risks Totally agree and aligns with my post. No running in behind and when they stand a couple of yards from each other, they aren't going to threaten. Not only that, means our striker is against 2 or 3 defenders and can't make space. It all has a knock on effect. Chairs best games have come when he's running behind, getting 1-1 and then doing something. Far to often, he gets the ball from Wallace from 2 yards and then knocks it back to a defender. Wallace could do that. Give more options in front. Not only that, by also going short like this he's (and he isn't the only one doing it) means it's easy to mark as its so compact.

1) Missing the point again. No one would expect the all round striker you're describing. We would have been happy with A striker. A striker that would have given a different option and skill set to the group as our own 3 are clearly struggling. 2) Exactly my point. He isn't firing and hasn't all season so deserves to be dropped. For me Thomas / Ball / Dozzell deserve more game time as I personally think they bring more than SJ does. 3) It does make me laugh I'll be honest the way you've tried to dress it up. Stats for a striker is literally what counts when it comes to goals. I wouldn't mind if ours were offering loads in terms of assists or bringing others into play, they're not! Hence why Les Ferdinand has gone on record to say a forward was offered to MW who said he was happy with what we had. Very odd. Anyway always good to get differing opinions. In fairness to Warburton, I guess it very much depends on WHO was offered. I’ve seen us play several, where it’s debatable as to if they are any better than me.😂 Well if rumours are to be believed this Patterson from Swansea could have happened if we stumped up 700k I’d like to think a man like Les would know a half decent striker if he saw one. I’m at the stage of thinking ANYONE would have been better than no one. Didn’t even use the loan market. Just don’t get it and it’s now coming back to bite us on the arse.

The board weren't prepared to put a bit of money down when it was desperately needed. By not doing that, they'll see the club's indebtedness rise anyway, because that's what happens if you stay at this level. And from what I read on here, most people agreed with them.

We are still talking as if blowing our budget on someone would have been the answer. Not all signings work; I mean, look at WBA and Derby for example. Plus Sheff Wed, Stoke etc. All gambled on promotion, all failed. Plus, we were only after Patterson (went on strike) and Lawrence (£32k a week) so both have their drawbacks. I did think we should have strengthened but I think wing backs are where we needed more quality, especially with a reluctance to change from a 3/5 at the back even when chasing a game. Hendrick, doesn't really add too much more than we had. Austin, Dykes and Gray are probably our top earners, but the strikers aren't the problem, the tempo is.

I can’t believe there isn’t someone out there on the fringes that wouldn’t have come here for Hendrick money. With Willock Chair Field Amos Johansen Ball Georginho Dozzell why Hendrick?

When Warnock took us up a massive part of that was really shrewd signings in January notably Routledge & Miller who both contributed to taking us up.
This season we got a holding midfielder despite the fact we’ve literally got 4 absolutely identical players.
Sorry but it could be a decision that really really costs us.
And the message a few back saying it’s not the strikers fault it’s the tempo. Have you watched us this season?
They have been dire! A lot of our football has been lovely, quick interlinking passing leading to chances / goals.
We can’t dress it up. The strikers have been shit. Plain and simple.

We are playing our system too narrow and static. I would suggest that Chair and Willock play as far as possible from each other...In that way they will create space for players like Amos and Johansen/ Dozzell/ Thomas to go forward or interchange.

Can honestly say hand on heart he’d be no worse than what we’ve got and at the very least better than 2 of them. We’ll never know as we didn’t get him.

A lot of our football has been lovely, quick interlinking passing leading to chances / goals. We can’t dress it up. The strikers have been shit. Plain and simple. Miller and Routledge were both big money at the time, don't forget. I have a ST so yes I have seen them this year. I agree about the midfielders, not disagreeing with you there. Wing backs or an attacking midfielder who can beat a man is what we needed. Further down you said that you don't know is Patterson would be any better than what we have, so why would we blow our budget? Just to say that we spent money? Again though, I don't understand the Hendrick money and we could and should have used it one someone else. Better service and our strikers score. Wells, Hugill etc would be doing worse than what we have, playing how we are playing. Are there better strikers? Absolutely. Do I believe that they are the sole problem? No. The myth that we are a young team really annoys me though. How many players are actually young that play? Chair, Willock are 24. Dickie is 25. Dieng 27. Barbet, Wallace, Albert, Moses, Gray, Austin, Johansen, Hendrick are all 30 or over. We don't play anyone younger than 23 that I can think of. Apart from McCallum maybe. This is possibly why we are struggling, we are old and knackered!

Better service and our strikers score. My thoughts too. Their low scoring rate is more the symptom than the cause.

Other forums are calling for MW to be sacked,
Think is a bit harsh but we are shit atm
5th in the league with 11 to go they need to step up now or its curtains
If they dont step up questions need to asked as to WHY

Sorry meant is not the way forward correction you would have to question though why he didn’t want a forward and why he changed a winning combination

You know what, start of the season I said I'd be happy with top 10, that'd be a good season, and I still think top 10 for the squad we have is a good season. But I can't help feel disappointed. We've massively overachieved there's no denying that, but to be in the top 6 practically all season and drop out in the home stretch is a bit gutting.

With a better manager at the helm we could have fought for a top two position instead of a play-off spot.

To be on the cusp of the top two and then chuck it away is unforgiveable. Poor attitude in games and the very thing that got us in the position will cost this season and that is recruitment January needs addressing as that is when the wheels came off along with changing a winning team and system.

Sunday is absolutely massive now.
Lose that and we could end up 8th or 9th depending on other results.
Just can’t believe it. We were a hairs breath away from second what seems like only a couple of weeks ago.
Playing no strikers, buying no striker, changing the players that got us to the top of the table and in game decision making has royally fucked us.
We win and we give ourselves a fighting chance.
