Sunday is absolutely massive now. Lose that and we could end up 8th or 9th depending on other results. Just can’t believe it. We were a hairs breath away from second what seems like only a couple of weeks ago. Playing no strikers, buying no striker, changing the players that got us to the top of the table and in game decision making has royally fucked us. We win and we give ourselves a fighting chance. And Forest. One at a time mate 😉

Persevering with three at the back, shoehorning Chair back in to the team, playing the Jonah that is Jeff Whatshisname, keeping Sam the Big Girl's Blouse in the team, and having three shit strikers has pretty much fucked us. Tippy tappy passing across the pitch, doing nothing but try to work the flanks, has fucked us too. We've been found out. High press, putting pressure on the player with the ball, tightly marking whichever player is nominally our striker, neutralises us.

With a better manager at the helm we could have fought for a top two position instead of a play-off spot. No chance. I doubt any of our players get into any of the top 6 sides team. It's a tight league with a lot of average teams. We are one of those. We are on a bad run now, but you would like to think that it will end sooner than later. Likewise, other teams are on good runs so they must have to stop at some stage. Forest, Luton, Boro all played games in the cup so that's extra games that they didn't need. Bournemouth dropped points to Posh, Boro just got spanked. A lot can change very quickly.

That would have put different pressure on the teams that have hit a bit of form. Instead we are playing catch up now having done really well and wasted the opportunity in, as you rightly say, a very average league this season. Coming up we’ve got Luton, Forest mid-week☹️, Sheff Utd twice and, dare I say it, Peterborough! Dunne and a fit Willock would walk into top six. Fulham’s defence is Mitrovic.

if performances don't improve over the next few games then obviously questions have to be asked. if we'd lost games but played well then i don't think anyone would be questioning the manager. i just don't know whats gone wrong tbh.
i don't think its time to even contemplate getting rid of mark as odds are the job would go to eustace and who knows what would happen there?

If what LF said in an interview that MW did not want or need another striker then he needs to be asked why he felt that. To not score against Barnsley, Peterborough and Millwall who at the time were way of form tells me that yes another man could well have nudged us into the top 2 especially with the games in hand we had. Why oh why has he sacrifised Willock to accomodate Chair who slows our team down.

Westy came up with a plausible explanation about Willock - is he fit? Are they patching him up and getting an hour out of him hoping we get on top?

I don't disagree with a lot of what you say. Willock yeah, Dunne maybe. But that proves my point, top 2 was always a pipe dream. Top 6 was the ambition; at the start of the season, I wanted to flirt with the play offs. Now, I would be as gutted as the next if we don't make them even though I don't think our squad is all that great. And it's quite old. Some fans though (not directed at you, I just can't un quote before posting the above) seem to think that we should beat all teams below and talk like it's an impossibility that we'll come back into form and beat those around us. All runs end, and new runs start. What's to say we don't beat Luton and go on a great run until the end of the season? It's not unheard of for us to win, or go unbeaten, for multiple games in a row. Warbs has been calm all season, on winning runs and losing runs. He has my trust that we'll come good again. Though, I wish he was as angry against Barnsley and Millwall!

I find it quite amusing that people are now calling Warburtons head because he has not guaranteed our place in the playoffs. Please, some perspective: Only three managers has managed to do it during last 50 years or so and two during last 40 years. Think so many got carried away when we beat ManU in preseason! Of course I'm disappointed too as it looked to be so close. Any improvement on last season (9th, 68 points) should be acceptable.

Not sure it’s right to say people got carried away pre-season, they started to BELIEVE we could do it given the position we got ourselves into. An improvement on last season is one thing but throwing it away more than negates that good feeling.

We've massively overachieved there's no denying that Quite the opposite IMO. It's amazing how wildly the consensus varies on this point. We're not out of yet though. I disagree. Look at the gulf in class between our players and the players playing for the rest of the teams in the top 6, not to mention the huge difference in expenditure. 10th is about our level imo. We've had a brilliant season and it's disappointing we haven't been able to keep it up. But there are still 11 games left and there's no reason we can't hit a little bit of form in the run in. Fingers crossed, because a playoff place would be fantastic.

Ok so no one expected us to be up there but we were and I hope we’re not supposed to be happy with throwing it away. Not at all, didn't expect it but to be up there all season it'd be extremely disappointing not to get a playoff place.

The man has steadily improved us season on season since he came in, he's done a fine job overall.

Absolutely cannot even contemplate sacking a manager at this stage of the seasons. Ridiculous suggestion.
He has worked wonders with the team & budget we have.
I stand by my earlier posts though not getting in a forward to help our useless 3 and blowing wages on an midfielder who absolutely wasn't needed or required does need questioning though.

We've over-achieved most of the season and done better than we had a right to. Disagree, and I think that's another myth that's been doing the rounds. We were absolutely there on merit until we imploded in Feb. Have to say I agree with Ginger. We have overachieved. Started the season playing good football. Lost and won games. From October or November onwards our game sunk. We were playing poorly until 80 minutes when - out of nothing - we started to dominate. Think we still have won most points during last 10 minutes. I remember writing here after that win didn't feel good as we were so poor. Unfortunately it seems that we don't have that drive to turn matches anymore. What has happened? My guess is that Austin was our leader and motivator on the pitch. Something happened to him and he doesn't care anymore. That has affected whole team.

Golden opportunity missed.
Cant see us making playoffs.
Given the position we were in end of Feb its scandalous.
Overachieved my arse, mistakes have been made and have cost us.
You dont suddenly become a poor side overnight and for us to make the playoffs might have to win most of our games left.
Dont see that so finishing 9th or 10th is that overachieving ? No it isnt given how we have played.
Dykes where is he,waiting for the Scotland game,Austin well could be anything but he is a pro. Along with poor team selections poor subs, poor transfer window no striker and overall poor decision making ftom top to bottom we have blown it.

Wouldn't like to be in the trenches with some Rangers fans, glad there are plenty of others showing a bit more perspective/ backbone.
We are on a sh*t run. It happens. Often. As long-standing QPR fans, is this in any way a new experience? Get drunk, play sport, read, have sex, think about how you used to have sex, do some work for a change rather than posting on here all day, steal some wheels if you are of the GT persuasion, and go easy on the message boards because when you are on a losing run, all these places do is depress you more and get you arguing with fellow fans. Think drunks in a bar without the fun.
I made the mistake today of looking at a few message boards for all of 30 seconds each (29 secs too long) and there were even threads titled "Sack Warbs". Seriously, are some fans deluded? Recent managers have included Steve McClaren, Jimmy Floyd Hasselwank, Ian Holloway, Mark Fucking Hughes, the list goes on - does any long-standing fan REALLY think they were improving us more, season on season, developing players, giving the club any kind of long-term strategy? Alas I'm hearing that Pep Gardiola doesn't fancy his next gig being in Shepherds Bush after all. If some fans (a small but vocal minority, I expect) can't see what Warbs has done, and that for all the frustrations he is still a a million times better than anyone we have had in ages, then its hard to have a conversation.
Do some posters (and I'm not digging out any individual on here or even a particular message board - this is very much a general comment) never even feel a twinge of embarrassment that about six weeks ago they were probably merrily contributing to some thread about how Warbs was our best manager since Warno/ Venners/ Dave Sexton/ Gordon Jago, yet now he is the anti-Christ for allegedly deliberately sabotaging our promotion chances by refusing to sign Harry Kayne on a free?
As for our form, it might continue to be cr*p. Or could QPR, being QPR, just surprise us and start playing the way we sometimes get lulled into thinking they can?
Either way we will carry on supporting the team, because that's what we do. There is really nothing anyone from the CEO down to the fan in X Block can do now about what could have/ should have happened in January.
Lets change the record because, you must admit, we've all heard it now.
Just been watching the Ipcress File - great escapism, nice old cars, ridiculous plot, and an incredibly sexy blonde leafing through a press cutting from the 1960s with the headline "QPR win again".
And we will win again...

Lack of backbone/perspective can be seen as not recognising something is not right and pretending everything is fine. No its not all fine, I realise that, all I question is whether constantly moaning that its not fine helps. Not saying you are moaning, its just my overall impression from seeing some QPR social media today having carefully avoided it for a while.

Moaning totally differrnt to critical observations. If you dont air your views how is someone or an organisation expected to improve or try to remedy their mistakes in all walks of life.
