At what point does the penny drop that they've been employing incompetent people to run their football club? Exactly when does that lightbulb epiphanic moment strike them? Unless, like others here have said, the downfall has been their cunning business plan all along and the club instead is being used as some kind of giant tax write off. tbh i just don't know why they would do that as the potential returns on a premier league club surely outweighs being no more than a tax write off, plus they have reinvested money like the eze deal. to add to that they're also the ones paying for our FFP deal. look at brentford, a few years ago they were in our shoes. they've turned over millions in profit for their owner and could no doubt now be sold for upwards of 150m+. i think that the owners have been placated by les and co into believing that he is the best man for the job. i have no doubt that les truely believes that and that he cares about the club but i reckon he's constantly pointing to our overheads and running costs as justification for why we're in the situation we're in when in reality the owners should be pointing to him and asking "why are other clubs on our budget able to achieve far greater success?" Agreed. And not just Les, but the entire recruitment and medical teams too. Even the media and marketing teams. Which returns us to Sparks point above about having to include the CEO in that too, as being the overall decision maker in the club's day to day running.

What ever happened to the old formula that worked of Owner/ chairman Manager Club secretary Scouts Football moved on. Martin O'Neil said recently that he enjoyed it when it was like that, but it wouldn't work like that now and he prefers to work with someone to bring in people.

We have some of the richest owners in the championship, if not the richest. We all know that doesn’t translate into expensive players etc due to FFP. But as others have said, to get where they are the owners must have a reasonable level of business acumen. Surely to christ they must be asking themselves why other clubs without a pot to piss in are progressing while we are stagnant, or indeed going backwards, if not then wtf are they doing owning a football club.

i do believe that the board should and could be doing more to run us. les obviously needs to go and replacing him seems fairly straight forward as we can simply poach someone elses DOF, just look abroad at a smaller club punching above their weight or nab the no2 from a bigger club. point is there are options out there.
where's that conveyer belt of talent too? we had that in place for what, 1 or 2 seasons when eze was here and chair was being prepped to take over the number 10?
even the coaching has gone awry. it looked set in stone that eustace would take over from warbs, fair enough the eel was brought in instead but that was a missed opportunity too imo. so much is wrong with the running of this club.

Well up to a point Lord Copper. In saying they are the richest that is counting Mittel's wealth - he has no connection to the club, it is his son-in-law. After well over a decade its pretty clear that Mittel money is never going to land here. Amit simply married into money (wise move, for sure) but what evidence is there that he is a brilliant businessman? Goongonggooli or whatever his name is - stand to be corrected but think his dad made all his money? Fernandez clearly did well back in the day but his airline business has suffered fatal crashes and covid-related disasters when his planes were parked on the ground for a good couple of years, reports I read a year or two back suggested it was struggling. You would hope, as you say, they are taking a really close look at it - but from the outside it looks more like they focus on their core businesses and devout very little time to QPR. That is fine as an investor if you appoint the right people, and there-in lies the problem.

It’s difficult to prove how much money has been made by our owners partnership with Notting Hill Genesis but a figure of £175m is in the public domain for one of the joint property developments.
I’m reasonably certain that they are not quite as stupid or skint as many think.

Or are they getting away with it by filing it under another company?

Interesting to see that Notting Hill Genesis is registered as a charity and not liable to pay tax.

It could be said the owners are risking their own money and not QPRs so realistically we as fans cannot raise any questions?

Exactly, by the sounds of it, this is a totally separate outfit to QPR so the fact that the owners have a property business as well is irrelevant to QPR, just as Tony's airline business is etc.

Next thing we hear nothing came from that re the stadium but it turns out they're now in the real estate business, trying to curry favour with local councillors too off the back of the QPR name. So there is clearly a link between the two ventures.

I guess if this ever did extend to a stadium then there would be some new company formed linking QPR to the property side. But from a strict legal perspective, unless QPR has shares in this other company then we wouldn't have any call on that wealth. In the same way the investor in my company is a hugely wealthy man but he is a shareholder in my company, I'm not a shareholder in his, so I don't have any claim on his other wealth - sadly.

In fairness they lose a million quid a month on us. I have no problem them making money elsewhere if that helps them bankroll us. Its not like they could spend more on QPR due to FFP. Arguably one day, if they do become successful at property, it might help fund a new stadium tho personally I gave up on that years ago. My criticism of the board is more that they run us so badly and make such terrible appointments.

Warbs was part of the dysfunction. It was always going to end in tears and bitching. Not sure I agree. Plenty of gossip after he left, but nothing tangible. We were playing decent football, improving gradually, the players respected him (not a single Haka in sight...) and wages were reducing (whether that had anything to do with him I don't know, but possibly to an extent by virtue of the players he brought in). Did the 'dysfunction' kick-in when it became apparent his contract wasn't going to be renewed? Have to say, for me, Warbs' time at Loftus Road was the best since Warnock. I agree Loftus. However the real problems were over MW's head. They were systemic and to do with the entire amateurish way the club is run. Warbs, therefore, didn't stand a chance despite his best achievements. So the falling out with the hierarchy was only a matter of when not if. His refusal to play B team players as deeming them not good enough being a case in point, and his subs bench on the final day of the season demonstrated that. Yes, he may have been a decent manager but if the root causes of the problems aren't addressed it's like continually applying sticking plasters over an open wound. Think about it - how on earth could he have stood a chance surrounded by such levels of incompetence? Exact same situation with Beale, Critchley and now Ainsworth.

Does make me laugh the way we yearn for the days of Warburton. The guy steadied the ship but was never going to take us any further - and that is no better illustrated than when he got us within touching distance but insisted on his boring ‘taking care of the football’ instead of upping our game going forward. The fact we have been rubbish since he left, apart from Michael getting us top before he lost interest, is no justification for saying we should have kept MW, it is an indictment of the clueless management structure we have not being able to deliver better.

We were shite under Beale in stages/matches too.
He never lost interest (if he did he’s highly unprofessional and should not work anywhere if that’s his mentality) Think other teams simply worked him/us out and free fall continued after him.
As always, he was a decent emerging manager who was good at bullshitting and pulling wool over peoples eyes. Interesting Rangers fans referring to him as a bullshitter too already.
Club needs major shake up in every department on and off the pitch.

I stupidly thought this may happen but something tells nothing is going to change and just a repeat of previous close seasons. The communication between club and supporters is deafening as usual. All we have heard is Amit we will come back stronger, its laughable, shambolic and an insult to the fanbase.
