I seen nothing in Kelman to think he’s Championship standard.
He’s had opportunities already with us and could not even hold down a first team place at League 2 Orient.
Time to give others similar chances.

Would agree - then again, given proper chances, he might score 28 goals in 3 years………..

Was said again last night that Charlie Kelman is the best finisher at the club. I take that to mean he has the right instinct, reaction and technique. If that is the case why isn’t he tearing it up here? If the rest of his game is so poor what are they doing with him? He/they have had long enough to improve the stuff you can coach. Another one to call time on and replace with someone better.

i don't get why they keep banging on about kelman being the second coming of thierry henry when he's clearly not.
its like watching those football skills youtubers like chrisMD or F2, yeah they can do great things with a football but they've been schooled by bang average oldschool league 1 players like ryan tavizolli in actual competitive play.
i do think kelman will carve out a career in leagues 1 and 2 as a decent option down there when he's older but he's likely never going to be good enough for the championship.
its night and day between him and armstrong. last season armstrong played what, 20 games? he didn't score but you could tell he had something quality about him.

Watched him tonight and have to say I really do not know where he plays or if he is as bad as he looked tonight.

He's a million miles off Champ level. Will no doubt carve out a respectable career in League 2 but he shouldn't be near our 11.

He looked like a lost ghost last night. What Ainsworth was thinking playing him I do not know, but it seems Ainsworth lives at least partly in a fantasy world where all of the garbage he spouts about players is actually true. For example he said in his post match interview last night something along the lines of 'there are conspiracy theorists on social media saying the fans are unhappy with the team and the way we're playing. Well I can tell you that's definitely not true'. Really, Gareth? It's just a 'conspiracy theory' that fans are unhappy with your management style and results is it? Yes, because in GA's wonderland, everything is rosy.

Personally, I will like to see him play a bit more. Preferably on the shoulder of Dykes. Edit: Playing alongside Dykes.

Unless you're thinking that he should literally be on Dyke's shoulder, like a large parrot, in which case I'd tend to agree, as Lyndon plays like he's got a wooden leg, so just an eye patch would be needed to complete the very fetching pirate look.

He’s never really had run or opportunities Armstrong has been afforded.
Perhaps he needs similar chance as Armstrong. One goal might be making of him. Aside from this season how many chances has he had?

Charlie getting a mate in squad today. They can talk about how small everything in uk is in comparison to USA etc, that’s probably why he doesn’t score as goals 3 times size other good ole Stars and Stripes

He’s never really had run or opportunities Armstrong has been afforded. I agree. Unless you get a run in the side you'll never know. Until then I wouldn't write him off, much as it's easy to do based on the limited opportunities we've seen of him.

Kelman has 17 first team appearances for us which were mainly as sub. How many more chances do fans want to give him.
Has he ever looked like a decent player because I haven’t seen it. What are his best attributes-well according to the website who scored.com, they say he’s poor in possession and in the air and has no best attributes.
The very fact he couldn’t nail down a first team spot at either Gillingham or Orient and is in his last year of his contract says a lot about Kelman at Championship level.

Interesting it’s 17 can’t recall seeing him before aside from this season, that probably tells me what I need to know.
If those 17 are 5mins off bench here and there then I would argue if I’m being generous that’s not similar to the opportunities given to Armstrong who has had starts and decent minutes off the bench and contributed 1 goal in 31 outings.
Truth is probably neither are good enough. The search continues…..

I was going to make the same point. Needs to be given at least 45 or 90 over 2-3 games to really tell.
